Good book
This book got me into reading and I've never looked back, it's a phenomenal book that's super interesting, the twists and turns will drive you mad. Expect the unexpected when your reading this book, there are a few sensitive topics but I found it amazing, it's super interesting and will keep the read interested. It's a great book to get you into reading or out of a reading slump. 100% recommend. <โ*This was my old review but after having read many other books I can now say that this is not an amazing book but it isnโt bad either. The plot is kinda predictable and you can take a guess, apart from this the book is also really hard to get into until like half the book. I actually wouldnโt recommend this book for a reading slump anymore, there are far better, fast paced books you can read instead :)*

Let down.
Maybe if your looking for an easy read you could read this and perhaps enjoy the book but I wasn't very fond of it since I was looking for a very intense phycological thriller.

I initially gave this 4/5 stars but after mulling it over for a week, it became 5/5...
This is Alex Michaelides debut novel and what a debut it is. I just donโt know how heโs going to top this. I loved this book. The story entices you in starting off with Aliciaโs diary. Although not every time, the chapters to alternate between Aliciaโs diary and Theoโs POV. Its hard not to spoil this book with my review. Iโm about to write something down and then realise that it would give too much away. There are so many twists and turns to this story that once youโve started, you just canโt stop. And I love thrillers like that. In fact, I love any novel like that. Alexโs writing is outstanding! There were point in the book where I was a little bored with Aliciaโs silence (my problem โ Iโm impatient โ not Alexโs) but once I got to the end of the book and had a few days to stew over what actually happened, I realised that it makes total sense and is absolutely necessary for her to be silent for as long as she was. There is a shocking twist at the end of this book. As always, you wonder how you didnโt see it coming. But with this one, it is literally staring you in the face the whole time. I gasped when I read the ending, I also laughed and shouted at myself for not seeing it coming. I couldnโt get enough of this book, of Alexโs writing style, of the twists and turns, of the journey he takes you on. Iโm already itching to get my hands on something else written by him. I highly recommend The Silent Patient. I originally gave this book 4/5 stars when I reviewed it straight after reading, however, a few weeks have gone by and I have mulled it over, and it really does deserve 5/5 stars. So, that is now my revised rating. 5/5 stars.

Highly Recommended
The Silent Patient revolves around Alicia Berenson, a famous painter who is accused of murdering her husband, Gabriel. After the incident, Alicia completely stops speaking, refusing to explain what happened. Theo Faber, a psychotherapist, becomes fascinated by her case. Determined to make Alicia speak again, he sets out to uncover the truth behind Gabriel's murder and understand why Alicia chose silence. This was a mind-blowing thriller for me. Throughout the story, I kept making guesses about the mystery, and every single time, I was wrong. The suspense kept me hooked from beginning to end. As I reached the final pages, I started to predict part of the truth, but the actual twist still shocked me. I even went back and reread some pages because I thought I had misunderstood something. The revelation was both surprising and unforgettable. Although I was hoping for a different ending, I still enjoyed the book overall. I also wished there had been more clarity and closure regarding certain events and characters. Nevertheless, the suspense, psychological depth, and unexpected plot twist made it a highly engaging and memorable read.
