Fine Piece of Kit
First one I bought didn't have the top bolt weld ground flat on the inside so it would not sit flat on a table top & would scratch it. I applied 4 self stick rubber feet under each corner and it holds super solid with no scratching. Just ordered 2 more and will use rubber feet on those as well, because they help it grip so well. For those who haven't noticed, or thought of it, the plastic end of clamping screw has V shaped grooves that allow it to be clamped to a round pipe or stand column. It is not as solid but works OK for lighter duty apps. Would be nice if they included a $.01 lock nut for the mic, like they do with their "POSI-LOC" "mini-mini boom". The metal seems to be heat treated, as it shows no sign of flexing when clamped very tight.

Works perfect for my application
I got this to mount a gooseneck to so that I could put a SM-57 on a Marshall 1960 cab. This clamps great to the top of a 1960B. Using different lengths of goosenecks I can place a mic on any speaker in the cab. I'm using it on a beat up (I think of it as MOJO) cab - it will probably make marks on the cab so if you use it for that you'd probably want to put a bit of extra padding in the clamp. I'm going to get another to mic my Fender amp that sits on top of the Marshall cab. Great way to mic amps without taking up floor space with a mic stand or having to watch out for bumping a mic stand.

Nice and sturdy
Bracket foam pad and thumb wheel all seem good quality and easy to use, not hard on fingers. Only issue I have is the mic thread mount will loosen when swinging a flex mounted to it. May not last long , time will tell.

This is A Simple and Effective Mount
I received this today and used it to hang a stereo mic bar from a beam on the ceiling of my studio. It's solid, holds tight, and I don't have a mic stand in the way anymore in my videos. I'll have to get another one for mounting a mic on my desk.Don't hesitate to buy this one.

Perfect
The product itself is great. Exactly what I needed, which was something to safely hold down my microphone on the table without occupying any desk space, while also looking discreet. It's sturdy, compact and reliable. However, it was relatively expensive ($33) to ship it to my country, since I simply couldn't find anything similar here in Brazil. All in all, that was the only problem.

Good for the price for a clamp on mic thread.
I use this for work to keep my mic in front of my face so people can hear me clearly. If your having trouble indexing this (ie. Getting it to stop spinning at the right point while attaching a mic boom) first take off the chrome adapter and put a rubber then metal washer over the smaller screw attached to the clamp. This will allow you to spin on a boom or mic and allow you to keep it tight while allowing room to line up your mic in front of your face. I have it sitting to my right and without the washer my boom stopped at 12:00 to me. No good. With the washers it was tight from 3:00 to 9:00 before it stopped moving.

Exactly the quality you pay for
I bought this to try out a DIY project, converting a swing-arm lamp to a studio mic boom. The price for this unit is fine, but looking at the welds and construction, I wouldn't be surprised if I have to replace it inside of a year. The base metal is solid enough, but the stud holding the threaded collar is incompletely welded. The collar itself is actually an adapter on top of what appears to be a 1/4-20 threaded rod. That means it is possible to get it jammed in whatever gooseneck or other mount you put on it. The clamping rod is long enough to fit a range of desks, and the friction stud (the spinney thing - it's got a cross shape instead of being flat) does its job, but both seem a little cheap. I wasn't sure if the clamp was deep enough to hold properly, but for the weight of my mic + boom arm, it has been holding just fine. I'd prefer an actual plate. At the bottom, the knob is knurled, but I wish it were a little deeper, or flat. That would let you get more torque on it without shredding your fingers or having to use a tool. Overall, this is worth the price.

Works great for acrylic lecterns
I'm using it for a microphone gooseneck holder on an acrylic lectern. It seems very sturdy. I didn't want to risk cracking or damaging the acrylic by trying to put screws into it.

Fits into tight places / simple design
What I love about this clamp is it is simple and a super slim profile. I can have this attached at the back of my desk, and still have the desk up against the wall. Also incase anyone was wondering (as I was), it doesn't say anywhere in the description as to whether the 5/8" Threaded piece comes off. Happy to say it does. It unscrews off of a 3/8" threaded stud that is welded to the plate of the bracket... or maybe it comes in from behind, but I can not tell that since there is a very nice piece of thin dense foam on the bottom of that plate to protect your desk. The overall clamping force is very good. It does not come loose. The only thing I can pick at is the price being a little high, but then I really haven't found any competition to force the price down either. Would be a must have in your clamp "bits and bobs" for around $15 CAD. Still highly recommended.
