Dr. Elsey's cleanprotein Duck Cat Kibble 2 lb. Bag

My cats absolutely love this food. It is a dry food, and I've noticed that they drink a lot more water than they did before with this. It's a more concentrated protein, and they tend to eat less than they did before when they were eating the junk filled commercial products from the supermarket. It does have a little bit of a smell. But that's only when you're opening the bag. It doesn't linger around the plate of food.

I researched quite a lot until I found this particular dry food brand. Note it is more expensive than "regular" cat food. However, it has a much higher protein content and I found my cats not eating as much, not because it isn't tasty, but likely it is more filling.

This is our cats 2nd favorite food they love it. We love the amount of protein which has been good for my diabetic cat. We buy it in small amounts to keep it fresh. The bags seal well which also keeps it fresh.

One of the brands recommended for diabetic cats. It was a hit for my kibble loving cat, but it raised his glucose, so had to discontinue its use. Darn! He has since gone into remission, but don't want to test it again and knock him out of the remission.

Good food . My cats do not have any digestive issues or throw up . They like all the flavors .

We like this brand overall and have been using it for about a year. They had some quality control issues with their "chicken" variety and then it went out of stock. We had to switch to the "duck". We liked the chicken because the only filler it had was flax. We have a little carnivore cat that we keep carnivore because it eliminated bladder stone issues. But he likes his munchy crunchies. This does have some fillers but less than most and he just gets a teeny bit each day. All the cats like it.

First, anyone complaining about diarrhea, really needs to introduce this food incredibly slowly over one to two weeks. It absolutely will cause diarrhea in many cats if you just straight out, feed it full force. The amazing thing about this food, at least for my cat, is the quality of the ingredients, and incredibly low carbohydrate content. My cat, Devon Rex, develops skin issues with most dry foods. It’s because most dry foods even hypoallergenic, have tons of carbs. Even if they are grain free.

3 stars because some of their flavors are great, my cat is diabetic and very picky eater but he likes duck the best. He liked turkey, wasn’t a huge fan of chicken or salmon. But the PORK flavor almost killed him. I should’ve listened to the reviews about the pork making other cats sick but I thought, maybe it’s just this brand in general not sitting well with their cats tummies. I thought since my cat has eaten this brand for months he’d be fine. After just 1 meal of the pork flavor my cat was violently vomiting, you could see the food in it. He was sick and lethargic for days, refusing to eat which meant he couldn’t have his insulin. Having multiple reviews of this flavor making cats sick and not taking it off the market is insane and extremely dangerous. Cats with underlying medical conditions like mine could die. If this wasn’t the only kibble I could find safe for diabetic I wouldn’t keep using this brand. Definitely do not buy the pork, listen to the reviews.

Hi, I monthly order Dr Elsey cat dry food but last batch was not good at all, see pictures. All cats start vomiting and I stopped giving the food from that batch. I don’t know what happen, is that due to production batch? transport? please advise if replacement is possible. Thank you with best regards Osterlind Alain Taher
