Swing into action and adventure with Disney's original classic, TARZAN(R), packed with fun-filled bonus features and award-winning music such as the memorable "You'll Be In My Heart" and "Trashin' The Camp." Disney's magnificent animated adaptation of Edgar Rice Burroughs's story of the ape man begins deep within the jungle when baby Tarzan is adopted by a family of gorillas. Even though he is shunned as a "hairless wonder" by their leader, Tarzan is accepted by the gorillas and raised as one of their own. Together with his wisecracking ape buddy Terk and neurotic elephant pal Tantor, Tarzan learns how to "surf" and swing through the trees and survive in the animal kingdom. His "Two Worlds" collide with the arrival of humans, forcing Tarzan to choose between a "civilized" life with the beautiful Jane and the life he knows and loves with his gorilla family. Filled with humor, heart, and hilarious fun, TARZAN(R) is an unforgettable adventure you'll watch again and again.TARZAN(R) Owned by Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc. And Used by Permission. Quality films . Disney is King
I Had never seen hercules, but i knew James woods was the badie so how bad could it be. Not bad at all! Infact it was really good. Danny devito was in it too. But the highlight was one of the little demons played by the guy in scrooge and police acadamy with the squeeky voice. He should be in more films he cracks me up. Plus i got Tarzan which was much better than how i rememberd it. Cool......BARGAIN.

A BLU RAY at last for this high quality Disney movie!
Tarzan is another along with Hercules of the older, late 90's Disney flicks to finally make it to Blu-ray and I couldn't be happier. Unlike Hercules which is strictly a goofball comedy along the likes of Aladdin; Tarzan is a much more serious (though still lots of fun) look at what happens when a man is forced to look seriously inside himself and realize that he may be more than just an Ape. That is the essence of this animated movie. So it starts out with his parents being lost at sea, their struggle to build a new life in the jungle and finally being adopted by the Apes. And happily enjoying his life until Jane, her eccentric father and their hired guide stumble upon this idyllic existence. It's a clash of two cultures and has never been done better. It's serious and dramatic when it needs to be, screwball comedy when it needs to lighten the mood but always remains a family movie with a true heart whether that family be human or gorilla. In overall quality of storyline, I'd put it right up there with Beauty & The Beast, Mulan or The Lion King. Animation is top notch as well for an older movie and on this new Blu Ray edition it has never looked better. Video is crisp and clean, and whatever the animators put into the original animation is there for all to see. The Dolby Digital track of the original edition has been boosted to a 5.0 DTS-Master Audio for the English track. (Yes you read that right, it's a 5.0 NOT a 5.1 track!) However the bass still sounds full and fine and the music of Phil Collins is as good as ever! As is the wonderful English dub especially of Jane which with her English accent is dead on! As for the rest of the audio tracks? There is also an English Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo Pro-logic track and Dolby Digital 5.0 tracks in French, Spanish and Portuguese. Plus a full English commentary track as well! So they seem to have covered all their bases. Extra's appear similar to my orginal Tarzan DVD. Deleted scenes, the making of the movie, making of the music, a short interview with Phil Collins and of course a handful of trailers. The DVD is similar and the Digital Copy has to be accessed from the web. No expiry code is indicated but at least 7 Gb. of storage space is required. Overall, I consider Tarzan as the last of the better conventional Disney animated movies to get a true proper bluray release and I highly recommend it for those who never got a chance to see it the first time around. Definitely 4-1/2 to 5 stars! J. A.
