I cannot wash my white clothes without vanish anymore. I think it is a must if you want to keep your whites white especially socks. It needs to be added to your regular detergent and removes usual stains. Even if there is no stain, white clothes or white towels tend to be grey or yellow with time. Vanish really help to maintain the brightness. It is a bit pricey but totally worthy

Do not waste your money on this product. Even after 6 hrs soaking and proper washing, it didn't remove the stains and didn't make clothes whiter. I have spent the whole bottle for a few clothing pieces.
