Sofia Coupe Stoneware Dinnerware Set, Service for 4 (12pcs), Matte Red

I love these dishes! They are gorgeous and the color is deep and the pics just don't do them justice. I searched for just the right set for 2-3 years, found these, added them to my wish list and dithered some more because of some of the reviews. I got them and liked them so much I bought another set because I break stuff and wanted spare parts. The thing is they are so sturdy that I haven't even chipped one piece!! I dropped a bowl today, it went flying, and it didn't break or chip or anything! Seriously, not one thing I've dropped on this floor hasn't broken, bent, chipped, whatever...until now. I love the lipped plates because, aside from the cool factor, I eat in my big easy chair so no spillage. The shape of the bowl makes it so easy to hold. I've had these dishes for months now and they look brand new. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from Gibson again if, unlikely, I need to get new dishes.

Beautiful and very well made

I bought this Gibson Soho four piece dinnerware set (Mate Red/Black) as a "used-like new" offering. The set came in its original packaging and everything was in fact like new. They are great looking dishes, stack well, and are best suited if space is at a premium. A little on the heavy side but not too heavy. Since they are a matte finish (no over glazing to protect the surface), over time some scratching can be expected. I would not recommend slicing/carving foods such as steak directly on the plate. Best to pre-cut on a cutting board. Looking at the other reviews, scratches seem to be the only issues that result in dropping a star. That said, this is a solid 5/4 star product. Finally, the reasonable price point is a plus.

These plates are better quality than I expected. Heavier than expected, sturdier, and the edge around the entirety of the plates is very helpful for gathering those last morsels you want to eat!! Bowls are deeper than I thought as well! For the price, it was money very well spent. If there is one drawback, the plates can get hot to the touch at times. So be careful with that, but knowing that, I can adapt the little bit I need to and enjoy these plates and bowls!!.

These dishes are beautiful but very heavy. If you are planning to eat off them, keep in mind that they are very heavy. I'm using them as a decorative display. They're too heavy to eat off. I do recommend them.

these dishes are BEAUTIFUL! the colour is vibrant. the finish is a very pleasing semi-gloss. and i love the lip on the plates. i wasn't sure if i would like the lip around the edge at first, since they seemed pretty high. but that edge keeps in EVERY bit of sauce or gravy, not matter how generously it is applied. THANK YOU for the beauty and quality!

The red on black color scheme and the steep edges gives these dishes an interesting, unique look. The dishes I received look exactly like the photos. They match very well with my matte black silverware. I'm very pleased with how these look. The dishes are packed efficiently in cardboard boxes with cardboard padding. I bought 3 sets (12 of each dish) and none were damaged or broken on arrival. As with every set of ceramic dishes I've seen a few of these have a surface imperfection such as a tiny dimple or bump. I compared it to my previous set of dishes from a different well known, popular brand and these had fewer. I noticed them as I did the initial inspection but they do not at all detract from the attractiveness of the dishes. The bowls are not nearly as wide as the bowls in my previous set of dishes so I assumed they would not hold as much. But because these bowls don't taper toward the bottom like my old ones it turns out they hold about the same amount. I really like that these can be bought without cups / mugs. I already have multiple sets of coffee mugs that I prefer and it's nice to not have to pay for something I don't need. All in all I'm very happy with these dishes. Exactly what I wanted.

Tolles Geschirrset! Die matte rote Optik sieht super edel aus und wertig fühlt es sich auch an. Seitdem ich davon esse, wirkt sogar mein ganz normales Abendessen, als hätte ich plötzlich ein Koch‑Upgrade bekommen. Klare Empfehlung für alle, die ihrem Tisch ein bisschen „Wow“ verpassen wollen.

We wanted a new dinnerware set for hosting family over the holidays, when I saw these I loved the colour so much I decided to buy 2 sets even though the price was abit higher then what I would have liked to pay, they arrived very well packaged with no broken pieces, no chips/ cracks, perfect condition, they feel very well made and look great.

Das Geschirr sieht toll aus, fühlt sich gut an und ist leicht zu reinigen. Einziger Nachteil, durch den hohen Rand lässt es sich nicht leicht in der Spülmaschine stapeln, man braucht mehr Platz als bei normal hohem Geschirr. Aber das ist nicht so schlimm. Ich finde das ein tolles, hübsches Geschirr mit dem Rot und dem Schwarz.
