So this is my second kiara sky kit. I’d say i’ve done maybe 10 sets so far and it has helped strengthen and grow my nails a LOTTTT. my last kit had issues with being gloopy and hardening. That was because of application errors and me just not really knowing what i’m doing. It is important that the base (2) does not make contact with the powder. You can make sure of this by making sure you dust off as much powder as possible between layers. It is also important that the top coat (4) does not make contact with the activator (3). You must wait for it to completely dry and wipe it with a dry lint free wipe. It is also very important to follow the directions as closely as possible, though i would look into video tutorials tips and such as well. For my results I used the apex method. (to the best of my abilities because my nails are really flat) and painted about 2/3 down the nail, dipped in the french to make the smile line, and then the medium pink. Then i did 3 layers on top of that of the medium pink to soften the line and contrast of the french tip, getting closer to the cuticle with every dip. Before activating i cleaned up around the cuticle, this is important to make your manicure last and prevent lifting. Two thin coats of top coat on top leave you with a pretty smooth strong finish! It’s also good to regularly file so sharp edges dont catch and cause lifting. If lifting occurs it’s time to soak off your nails and reapply. Dont rip them off! and make sure u soak of your nails as soon as you can to avoid a fungal infection I love this kit it is definitely of great value. I recommend it to anyone who wants a strong, cheap, home manicure that is stronger than acrylics. I would say this is for the intermediate to advanced DIY nail tech and takes a bit of research and a lot of patience to get it justtt right. It has helped me grow my nails and just looks so beautiful on!! I have not had a single nail break since purchasing my first kit. 6/5 stars from me

I did not buy this kit because I wanted dip french tips. I wanted to create a strong base to protect my nails from breaking while still having the freedom to enjoy my nail polish collection. I do my nails myself and will simply never keep up with salon nails, but I've had to accept that my nails are just genetically brittle. Past injuries have also made a few of my nails especially break-prone. I went shopping for a dip kit from a known, non-sketchy brand that seemed beginner friendly. I'm happy with my choice! I can't speak to how well this kit works for french tips, but the sheer, neutral colors and minimal steps are just what I was looking for for my purposes. Once I finish with the top coat in this kit, I move straight to the nail polish color of my choice and finish with a quick-dry top coat. My nail polish bonds to the dip really well. There's definitely a bit of a learning curve, but I'm slowly getting the hang of it. I have had some chipping and crumbling on a few nails, but I think that's user error, because most of my nails stay flawless. And not a single break on the nail itself so far! I think practice will make perfect. The bottle design is a little frustrating. I love that the brushes can be swapped out, but it's way too easy for the brush to get pulled out of the handle, even if it's not stuck to the bottle itself. A minor annoyance, but I definitely don't love having to reassemble the bottle with wet product already on my nails.

I ordered the French tip set and my nails turned out great! I’ve never tried my own nails before, so I was really worried about how my non-dominant hand would look, but they came out really well! The white tip part didn’t curve like I wanted, and they ended up a bit crooked too, but hopefully those will get better with practice. I also need to file them down more next time. Lots of room for improvement! But they dried rock hard, and haven’t chipped or come off at all. It’s been about a week now and I’m so pleased (especially since I’m saving money by not going to the nail salon). A couple “cons”: the brush end of the base bottle got all stuck together about halfway through my whole application. When I was all done, I put the brush in a bottle saver (from another company) and also wiped the ends off in acetone, and now it looks good as new. But next time, I’ll need to clean off the brush during my process, because the clumpy brush made the base go on all gloppy and messed up the powder application (the set did come with several extra brush ends, but I’m saving those for when/if any brushes fall apart) The other “con” is that it’s really pricey compared to other companies; like twice as expensive. I’m a newbie, so I don’t know if other companies’ formulas perform the same; I’ll come back and edit when I’ve used other brands.

This kit is great if you are starting with dip powder or nails in general, it has clear instructions to learn how to use it properly. I like that it has its own dehydrator so your manicure can last longer without chipping or lifting. The one in the picture is my 2nd dip set that I made with this kit, it lasted about a week and I think it could have been more but I like to change the color of my nails often. Be careful with the base coat and top coat make sure you clean the bottle before closing it otherwise it’s gonna get all glued and super hard to open that’s the only cons about this kit but I guess ir happens with this kind of liquids.

Overall satisfied. Watched videos before using the first time. Kit includes very handy instruction sheet with photos. Pretty French manicure easily achieved, will improve speed with time and practice! The top coat is very shiny for the first manicure, tho it’s thickening and the brush needs to be changed every time. Not sure it will remain in my process, might replace it with something else. A decent value bc will get several manicures from this set for less money than one manicure at our nearby salon. 😁 I recommend it for beginners especially as it’s easy to understand and follow the instructions. Highly suggest white nail files and buffers to avoid the little dark specs from dark files. The files and buffers are really needed for this process - buffing the surface to a smooth finish creates a lovely and very shiny final manicure.
