I kill plants easily. Has kept my new plant happy and not over/ under watered. Easy to read and use.

For the price, I recommend it. I expect to use it frequently since we have a drought in Northern California. The moisture level reading is relative and will not match the moisture content calculations of a smart sprinkler controller. That's OK. Use this device after you have watered the plants, and you will be able to distinguish over-watered and under-watered plants. Put the probe tip under water. Mine only went to 9 because our water lacks minerals. Now I know the wettest possible reading. The soil moisture meter can be thrust down several inches into the lawn to reach the roots of the grass and measure moisture at root level. You can tell the difference between grass in shade and grass in sun. See first two photos of grass. The plastic top is not very strong, so grasp by the stem when pushing down. This is most important with grass. The meter can be used around shrubs. We use a thick layer of mulch to conserve water. You must push the probe deep, all the way through the mulch and into the soil to get a reading at the roots. See second pair of photos to see the big difference between soil moisture of the mulch (very low) and the soil below (wet). Works best with potted plants. Probe is strong enough and long enough to measure soil moisture several inches into the soil. Comes with a small micro-fiber cloth which is easily lost. Might be useful indoors, but outdoors, your hands will get dirty. Does not have a hook or mounting hole to hang on a wall or pegboard. It does the basic job intended and should last for several seasons, and DOES NOT require batteries. It's a good value.

This came exactly as the discrption. It was easy to use and functioned perfectly. The length was great to get to the root of my 12 inch pot. Durable and not bendable. I was having difficulty figuring out amount of water in my repotted olive tree. This will help.

This is my fave moisture meter. I’ve owned 3 prior and they failed because of owner-error, but I always go back to this one for replacement . They’re accurate, fast, easy to read and don’t have other functions that I don’t use or need . The multi-test meters have a tendency to switch modes if you accidentally move the switch, resulting in disastrous results if you don’t catch it. I loved the little card included as well! (See photo) Best value I have found.

I've only had my soil moisture meter for 8 months, and it has stopped working. There is no on/off switch and no way to change a battery. Truly not worth the purchase!

Meter is well made, easy to use, and has a probe that can reach into the soil far enough to get in there for the large plants. Meter is easy read.

I am very satisfied with this product. It was delivered in a timely manner.

Estos medidores de humedad son muy útiles para ver el nivel de humedad de las plantas, sin embargo funcionan por un rato y hay que reemplazarlos. En mi caso este es el 3 que compro y el que menos duró. Normalmente me duran 3-4 meses pero este duró menos de unas semanas cuando ya no detecta la Humedad. Si volveré a comprar el aparato pero éste no.
