My isp provides 600mbps, will this device be a bottle neck running pfsense ?

The answer is much more nuanced than a simple 'yes' or 'no'. Primarily, the answer depends on: 1) What software you're planning to run and 2) What services you plan to enable on that software. For example, if you run vanilla OPNsense (out of the box configuration) then you can expect to get wire speed (~930Mbps) throughput with a synthetic benchmark tool like iperf. If you plan to run IPS / IDS and / or VPN, then you can expect much reduced throughput, depending on what the exact configuration is. The primary difference between these two models is 2 ports vs. 4. Either will work great for running pfSense, though another user noted that on the FW4A (this unit is the FW2B), a BIOS configuration change is needed to get pfSense to run properly. (this will ultimately be addressed with a default BIOS configuration change and it can be worked around by following the docs available on our site). Additionally, this unit is a smaller (physical) form factor than the 4 port unit. It runs hot (to the touch), but this is expected and even under a heavy load, the CPU will operate within tolerable limits. How & can the usb be used as a basic nas? if so, how?, and are they auto-enabled & auto-configured under the subnet local-host?

These devices can be used as a NAS with an operating system installed that supports such functionality. There is only 1 internal mSATA drive (960GB available drive size) as well as an internal SATA port (though no room inside the chassis to mount a drive). You can attach USB connected external drives, though this is less than ideal for a 'proper' NAS.

What is the VGA port for?

The 2 port Protectli Vault with the dual core Celleron does not have a VGA port... at least not the one in this picture which is the one Injabe. For video display this model has 2 HDMI ports.
