Our household has very dry skin and our hands get washed a lot in the course of a day. As soon as it arrived, I applied a bit on my hands and immediately felt a difference. I have also used Aveda moisturizing hand relief cream and it smells remarkably similar. Personally, I like the way it is scented and find it very subtle. I think This Works Stress Check has a more subtle scent already feels more moisturizing. It is a fairly thick & creamy lotion and I have not experienced any greasiness or residue at all. I purchased the small tube first. We may stay with that size depending long it takes us to use it.

Ordered to help remedy the damage I'd done by putting hyaluronic acid-containing cream on my hands. Hyaluronic acid has a tendency to go looking for moisture anywhere, including deeper in the skin, so my hands were well and truly dried out, not just on the surface, but well below. I'd been using the O'Keefe's hand cream to help with recovery, but it was so greasy that it didn't sink in very quickly. Not a problem here - this is more of a watery lotion, so it sinks in nicely. Do be careful of this when you open the bottle though - it will literally fall out because it's so runny. I didn't mind though, as it meant it absorbed pretty fast, with very little stickiness. Preferable to greasy or waxy creams. It's effective pretty quickly. I used it a few times during the evening before going to bed, and by bedtime, my chapped hands had lost their redness, and looked a lot healthier. As I continued using it the next day, the dry feeling slowly but surely disappeared, and by the afternoon, the areas which had felt hard and dry seemed to have some softness back in them. It was fantastic. By day two, I felt like the damage was pretty much entirely resolved. There was still a slight dry feeling, but my hands no longer looked like I'd been wading through snow and wind without gloves on. This stuff really does work. The only reason I can't give it five stars is the scent of it. I couldn't put my finger on it, but now I'm pretty sure I can say it's a mix of geranium and rosemary. It is very strongly scented as well. I put it on before bedtime, and the whole bedroom had picked up the scent by the time I woke up. I could still smell it on my hands as I made breakfast, and to be honest, it was not pleasant. Why on earth did it have to be such an overpowering smell? Rosemary is a strongly scented herb, and geranium has a pretty potent earthy odour. It would have been so much nicer if it was unscented, or mildly fragranced. Overall then, a very effective lotion for dry or overworked skin in need of a boost. It has worked wonders for me, and is just as effective as O'Keefe's. I just wish it wasn't so strongly perfumed.
