Weasel hair is thick and absorbing of water. The items came very well packaged and secure, with cellophane slips on each brush and plastic tube protecting the shape. Follow the instructions inside the box it comes in and you will remove the starch helping to keep its shape. As opposed to squirrel hair, weasel hair is thicker/coarser with spring to it even after starch is remove. Although the fibers are not perfectly cut into tapered rounds, none of the hairs frayed or kinked. The brushes hold more water than taklon, but less than squirrel or sable hair brushes. I have included a small tester of the lines and thicknesses of each brush to help inform others. My advice when using these brushes is to go slow and vary pressure. They worked surprisingly well for stippling and give great dry brush textures. If you want something soft with no spring, look for squirrel hair or sable. The weasel hair is closer to horse hair sumi-e brushes in my opinion. This review was not paid for or sponsored by the seller. I am just looking for decent and affordable brushes. Overall for the price and quality, I can say these are a steal. 1 Week Update: I noticed the hairs curl up when dry. (See pics) No big deal, just got to dampen and gently finesse the bristles straight to shape it. Still works the same for painting. 1 Month Update: Losing a few hairs off of each brush, but mostly intact and still working well.

They work really well, especially considering the price. Not perfect, but definitely better than my old brushes. They are very smooth and blend really well.

To me, these brushes make me feel like that their versatile brush set that caters to various painting mediums, including acrylic, gouache, watercolor, and oil. The triangular handles provide a comfortable grip and better control, making it easier to achieve intricate details on miniatures and models. The brush set boasts excellent craftsmanship, with fine bristles that hold their shape well, ensuring precise and smooth strokes. The selection of eight different brush sizes offers a wide range of options for artists to explore various techniques and paint details of varying sizes. Additionally, the brushes are suitable for face painting, making them an ideal choice for versatile artists. In my opinion, the triangular handle feels very comfortable during the process of your work and it securely locks in place within your palm but some users may find the triangular handles uncomfortable, especially during prolonged painting sessions. It might take some time for those accustomed to traditional round handles to adjust to this unique design. Furthermore, while the brushes perform well with most mediums, some artists may notice slight shedding of bristles with heavy use, which can be a bit frustrating. Overall, I think this product with a triangular handle is a commendable choice for artists seeking precision and detail in their work. Its versatile compatibility with multiple mediums and array of brush sizes make it a valuable addition to any artist's toolkit. However, it may not be the best fit for those who prefer traditional round-handled brushes or require brushes for heavy-duty, extended use.
