Works as advertised!
This was a super fun experiment! Precision Laboratories sends you 100 strips of paper coated in phenylthiourea, which is a chemical that either tastes extremely bitter or like nothing depending on the taster. The ability to taste PTC is encoded by the TAS2R38 gene, which codes for a taste receptor on the tongue. This is an interesting product for educators and curious minds alike. To answer some of the questions listed above: This product does not have an ingredients list. I would assume that it is just because it is only paper and PTC, but if you have concerns I would contact the seller. The strips do not come with any instructions, and most science experiments online do not indicate any clear steps either. I would recommend not doing this experiment if you have just burnt your tongue. Other than that, just rinse your mouth out with some water, place the strip on your tongue, and close your mouth. Super tasters like me will immediately want to remove it! ***I would recommend purchasing this very early in advance if you needed it for a specific date, like for a specific class. This product was fulfilled by Amazon and I had a ton of issues getting it. I had two day shipping but it took almost two weeks because the product never arrived and then Amazon made me purchase it again myself. I was kind of annoyed with Amazon's customer service but did not want to take it out on what seems like a very reputable company!

Fun, we're not super tasters, unique, good experience.
SooooooI guess we here in our home are not super tasters. Bummer. I didn't even know of such a title until a facebook friend mentioned these test strip thingies you could get to test how sensitive your palette was. She said that herself the strips (not these, same thing different brand) she couldn't taste anything but her husband tried it and immediately gagged it was so bitter for him! Well of course my first thought was "We want to gag too!!!" Er...... well not really but I was very curious about this whole palette super taster thingy and when I found out the ridiculously cheap price for 100 of these strips, well....game on. We'll see who is super... My friend is in another country and she had to pay twice as much for only THREE strips. So at the very least I can confirm this is an excellent deal! The only thing is apparently neither my husband or myself are super tasters. What the what? I have never been so disappointed to not gag or taste bitter.... *sniff* I felt a little silly laying out funds for these but the thing is, it's a cheap thrill and it really did satisfy my curiosity. Plus with sooooo many of the little strips I was able to pass them along to some one else who assured me they were going to make all their friends try them. haha So, this is like a really weird pay it forward type situation I got myself in to. Anways, I presume they work....and under that assumption I have to believe I am not a super taster...super yes...but my palette is not that sensitive. No problem, bring on the bold red wines, dark roast coffees and garlic. I can take it ;) These were fun and I could see them being a really unique/peculiar/funny stocking stuffer or something... party favor? haha

It's consistent!
I'm not sure how accurate it is, but if I base it on consistency, it's a home run. The same people get the same results every time. Some taste nothing, some taste unpleasant (or even spicy) but not unbearable, and a rare one or two can't abide the taste at all. I shared with my students to take to their families, and they had fun with it. Many varied results. This was so fun and interesting that I'm going to shop for one of the tests that has multiple "flavors," including a flavorless one, for better controlled testing. I seem to have stronger taste than other people, which is what made me interested in this in the first place. And then I saw that it affects some people who are picky eaters (not me). We have a picky eater in the family, and I thought it would be interesting to see if this factored into it (it didn't). But I feel like it was a bit of a cheat for me because I knew what it was supposed to do, so I want to do a blind test with multiple strips. Also excellent price for 100 test strips!

Very fun amd informative
Used these for our troops Senses Investigative Work. The troops loved it. There were 100 strips, so I also took them to work and had my coworkers try them. We had a great laugh at the Supertasters faces. Many said it tastes like BC Asprin. I wouldn't know, for I am not a Supertaster.

Works
My mom, daughter, and I all did the experiment. My daughter spit it out immediately. She’s 18, autistic, and has very limited foods she likes. My mom and I both felt it tased like normal paper, but after a few seconds more we started tasting the bitterness. I believe it’s suppose to be the immediate reaction that counts.

Works
I am not a teacher, to start this off. I got these as a fun thing to do with family and friends. I am a supertaster, and I can ASSURE YOU that they work and are accurate. Very simple and easy to understand. Cheap for how many strips there are per container!

Does it work?
I haven't found a single person that says it tastes bitter. Maybe no one I know has the gene.... or this is a genius ploy to sell tiny pieces of paper.... either way, just buy it. If it doesn't work, at least your helping someone make there millions.

It works, tastes gross to me, but some others can't taste it at all

My boyfriend and I have always suspected I was a supertaster due to how much more I taste in 'bland' foods and how I hate a lot of food that tastes bland to him. Sure enough, I am a supertaster and he is not. Also found out that my sister and mom are, but my dad is not. Must be genetic! Fair warning, this thing is VILE if you are a supertaster. It's like licking battery acid. Have a drink and something strong to chew on right next to you or anyone taking this as they will need it if the test is positive.

Received the package in proper condition, though delivery was a bit late but the product was good. Bought the tasting paper for a project and it actually worked.

In linea con le striscette fornite da altre marche, ma in questo caso devo dire che il barattolino rende impossibile prendere una striscetta senza toccare le altre con le dita e questo è poco igienico purtroppo quando si effettua uno screening del gusto con diverse persone.
