I see in the description under product information 1 a batteries required but it looks like it is powered through the usb port. are batteries needed?

Can the keyboard plug into this instead of into the pc?

Yes. The pad comes with a class c cable to USB that connects to the dock and your PC for power and data. The dock has two USB plugs for your mouse and keyboard.

Is the included USB-c cable 2.0,3.0,3.1?

The included cable is USB-C to USB-A 2.0. The MM700 RGB's USB hub is designed to provide connections for lower power peripherals (ex. mice and wireless dongles) , rather than performance storage devices. Mine came in and won’t lay flat. How do I get it to flatten out?

Take a pic and file an RMA with corsair, Mine did the same thing they were super cool about took like 4 days. Its the led band there really isnt anything that can be done other than replacement.
