Reduces weeds and retains moisture
I have used this type of plastic mulch for more than 20 years. It keeps weed seeds out, and moisture in, greatly reducing the effort and expense needed to grow my vegetable garden. I know that using plant derived mulches would be better for the environment. However, as I approach 80 and my strength fails, I need the help I get from these thin plastic mulches.

Big Waste of $$
This was a really disappointing purchase and it’s my own fault because I didn’t take the time to really read the reviews. It arrives in a roll, but folded almost in thirds first. Well it’s so clingy that it’s nearly impossible to actually open up to its full width. It also started tearing as soon as we added a stake, like so thin that once you put a puncture in it to stake it it just keeps ripping. We tried on a no wind day and just the slightest breeze and the entire length tore away from the stakes in about 10 seconds flat. Haven’t even tried to cut a hole for planting because I’m sure it’s going to be the same mess. After almost an hour just struggling to unfold and lay 2 rolls, one of which is wasted, we gave up. Truly a bummer because now I have to go buy more so I’ll have ended up spending double. Trying real hard to get a refund but looks like this seller doesn’t care about customer service once he gets your money.

This is what all the farmers use / not ment to be super thick.
I have a friend who manages a small farm and he use this type of dark plastic on his tomatoes. Agriculture plastic is thin and also stretched a bit you do not want heavy construction grade or I should say it is not needed and harder to work with. I bought this and it is exactly the same stuff.

It is working great for the weeds!
My garden has been low maintenance with the weeds, but the description says water will penetrate. Have not found this to be the case. I have had to cut some holes to drain the water into the plants and in those areas I have to watch for the weeds & grasses. But the garden looks neat and the weeds have been kept away, so it works in that aspect and is worth the trouble to put down. I work my little farm alone, so I do not have time to weed. I put some drip lines underneath the plastic and that has helped tremendously, next year I will put the drip lines down first, then the plastic and see if that works more efficiently.

Ehhh pass
Weeds poked right through it, very thin and cheap feeling. I could have used thicker, outdoor garbage bags and they would have served its purpose. It rips very easily and tears very easily. I’m using it for weed suppression around my watermelon plants and to also warm the soil, only expecting it to hold up one season and that’s totally fine but I wasn’t impressed by the quality at all.

Weed no more
Love this stuff! No weeds in our vegetable garden and we have had it out for over a month. Not the most attractive thing, but that's ok. If you don't like weeding and do not care about the look of your garden buy this now!

NO HOLES
For some reason, I thought this had pre-cut holes. I guess from the photo, but, I should have asked that question before purchasing. I am keeping it, because it is lightweight and I really needed it. So far, so good with weed control. I did have a little trouble laying it down, so, better for a two person job.
