Different than american pineapple
This is not like the soft pineapple chunks, you would normally get from dole or something like that. The Dole. Chunks are so much softer and maybe a little sweeter. And more juicy too. These are harvested in vietnam, and it's a different variety from what's used in hawaii. You really have to chew on these. But I like them a lot, and I will probably buy more.

Tasty and Organic with No Citric Acid
There is much to like about this organic pineapple. My major bone of contention is that ALL commercial (and store-branded) brands use citric acid as a preservative. Being allergic to citrus (I break out in red, itchy blotches, mostly on my face), I have to be very careful what I ingest, and to that end have become an avid label reader. My girlfriend, who's also into as much organic as possible, pointed me in the direction of this brand. I contend that people who complain about this product are not used to eating raw pineapple. They are used to whatever the "big name" label gives them. Perhaps the company cuts the fruit just a hair closer to the rind than the other "big name" company does, but there is NOTHING WRONG WITH NATIVE FOREST PINEAPPLE. It is tasty, sweet and tart, and the juice is UNFILTERED (perhaps that's why people grouse about the juice being "gritty"). I enjoy the juice as well as the fruit, and find no grittiness to it. I have never had dented cans, either. In conclusion, I would recommend this product to anyone, wholeheartedly. I enjoy several cans of it each week.

Great product
Love this for cooking and baking! Amazon needs to do a better job packaging and shipping - this was purchased along with other items and shipping box arrived broken and open.

Dented cans, iffy taste, still good though
Many of the cans were dented and had a metallic taste. They were wrapped in plastic wrap/protector which was not broken, so the dents weren't from shipping via Amazon. These must be manufacturers' defective products. But still, it was organic pineapple and tasted decent enough. I would rather just pay 10 cents more per can and get them from Whole Foods instead.

No longer quality fruit & company has failed to certify BPA-free
March 2013 update: I am revising my review to give the lowest possible rating now. I have been regularly buying the Amz 6 packs of the Native Forest organic pineapple and organic papaya for almost 1 year. There are two reasons for my current low rating: (1) over the past 2-4 months, the quality of the fruit has seriously deteriorated; and (2) the company never followed through in labeling their cans to certify that they were now BPA-free cans, as they told me they were before I posted my first review and started consuming the pineapple and papaya regularly. For the pineapple, the quality has deteriorated in the following way based on opening and eating it over 2-3 months: (1) many chunks in each can now contain large amounts of pineapple center core, which is hard and fibrous and did not used to be in the pineapple chuncks; (2) numerous cans contained pieces of pineapple outer skin and those little barb-like fibers that are on the outer skin. The papaya also has significantly deteriorated: every can I've opened in past 3 months contains many pieces with large portions of the yellow rind of the papaya--again, an indication of low quality papaya because instead of consisting of only the inner orange ripe papaya pulp, they now consist largely of small amounts of the ripe orange inner pulp with large sections of the outer yellow rind. Also, some cans of the papaya also contained pieces that were mushy over-ripe. FOLLOWING IS MY ORIGINAL REVIEW FROM SPRING, 2012. Of course I prefer to get my foods either fresh or in glass jars. But when neither of those are an option, then I resort to canned foods--IF THEY ARE PBA-free cans. For a canned food, I rate this 5 stars even though it's a canned product because: (1) I only eat organic foods, and it is rare that anyone in the DC metro area sells ORGANIC fresh pineapple; (2) the Native Forest cans are now PBA-free [with the exception--according to the manufacturer--of a few veggie items that haven't yet been converted as of Spring 2012]; and (3) extensive online searching revealed that NO ONE sells organic pineapple in glass jars. So if I want organic pineapple, I have no option but to buy it in cans. I've so far consumed about 15 cans of this pineapple. In only 1 can so far did the pineapple have a slight "can taste" that one of the other reviewers referred to. Yeah, I don't like that distinctive "can taste" either. But except for that one can, the pineapple has tasted very good--and no unripe pieces or detritus, or pieces of pineapple core or outer skin. So I'm pleased, and it satisfies my craving for pineapple when I can't get fresh organic. Dented cans: this has been a problem with 2 shipments over the past 6 months, because the manufacturer fails to put adequate cushioning inside the box to protect the cans. So when the box gets tossed around during shipment, some of the cans can be dented. When they arrive too dented to open or raise concerns about whether the seal might have been broken on the pull-off lid, I call Amazon customer service and request a refund or a replacement shipment. Amazon has been great about either immediately issuing a refund for the damaged cans or immediately shipping out replacement cans that arrive within 2-3 days.

Split household so 4.5 stars
My love says it's good but not sweet. He also acknowledges that most canned pineapple is full of sugar or corn syrup, while this is far healthier. So four stars for him. Not being a sugar junkie, this stuff tastes really sweet to me! I use the juice to flavor a basic vinegar & oil salad dressing, and along with herbs and seeds, it's excellent. The pineapple itself is flavorful, and the chunks are firm -- perfect texture to eat with organic cottage cheese. Five stars from me. It's a bit pricey but life is expensive, good healthy food even more so, and I'm thrilled that we found it. --d of d&ABC.

Nice pineapples
Great tasting pineapples! I received all chunks. I would order again. I made a nice fruit salad with the pineapples. See below if you care to try: Let this marinate over night: Gogji Berries (the berries will be plump by morning) Organic pineapple chunks Once you serve the next day or in a few hours add the following: Sliced bananas Mango Greek yogurt (1/2 c) 1/2 tsp of Chia seeds Top with Unsalted Walnuts Enjoy. I absolutely enjoy this quick fruit salad. Keep in mind that you don't have to let your berries and pineapples sit if you don't want. You can enjoy the fruit salad with more crunch to add to the walnuts. :) Either way, it's quite tasty.
