What ARE genes? What do they do? How did DNA make EVERYTHING? Young scientists, meet genes and DNA, the building blocks of ALL LIFE ON EARTH. Colourful illustrations, plenty of flaps, and intriguing for kids who want to know MORE. Chapters in this book include:- What are genes?- Where are genes?- Where do your genes come from?- How do genes work?- Why do we all look different?- How do we know about genes?- What else can genes do?- What does the future hold? Review: Not great - I usually really enjoy the used Usborne flap books, but this one was a fail for me. I think it depends on the author. I like the Rob Lloyd ones a lot... This one didn't have great pictures, wasn't really organized in an interesting way... It just felt like a waste of money. I did end up returning it. Review: missing facts and too many imbalanced declarations. - no mention of xx and xy chromosomes...omissions are plenty...much propaganda without a balanced view. hybridization is not equivalent to genetic modification.
