Yes it does. It is not waterproof, but it will protect your papers if walking to and from classes in inclement weather or if your kid brother shoots a water gun in your direction.

I am right-handed and find it very easy to use. Still no missing or broken parts on this brand too, while another brand that I had purchased already lost a tooth on the closing clip, so is now useless.

I just tried to fit four in but it took some juggling to make it work; easily fitting I would say 2 maybe 3 as in the center there is a snap lock that kind of gets in the way for more; at work I keep a pencil and pen and one small lipgloss that is not long. Hope that helps!
