I'm 5' 9" 180lbs. Would a size Large leave enough room to wear a nice fleece layer underneath without feeling snug?

Unless it's real cold u won't need more than a long sleeve shirt under it. I'm a little bigger than u 5 11 190s I have an xl I wear body armor and uniform under mine as I'm LE and it fits great.

I'm 6'4" and 305lbs. Any guess if xxxl will be enough?

I'm 6'4" 340lbs, 56" chest, 42" waist. This is my favorite jacket, and it fits well. I never close the armpit zippers, and that makes a significant difference in range of motion and how it fits. If you have a beer gut this might not fit. Also if you have a really long torso, it might be a little short in the front.
