An excellent text for pre-medical students who wish to deepen their knowledge of biochemistry. As someone who recalls reading the first edition of this text, it has aged beautifully. The ninth edition is organized into chapter sections that make it easy to explore three different aspects of biological chemistry. These thematic threads are evolution, physiology, and biotechnology. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to deepen their understanding of biochemistry.

Good book for life science

最近、第8版の日本語翻訳が出たばかりなのに、第9版として大幅に統合され、最新の進歩が加えられた。 This version is the newest 9th edition including good advanced items recently released. Many parts were updated and more integrative expression from eighth edition whose Japanese translation released only recently. Many recent important results were included to change the fundamental conceptual changes in life science due to the great advancement of new technology in genome sciences, cell biology and structural biology with new medicinal aspects.

This textbook gives tremendous insights on what proteins, DNA, RNA, enzymes, carbohydrates, lipids, fats, cholesterol, glucose, insulin, metabolism are and how they work. Text is filled with real life examples such as alcool metabolism, insulin regulation and much more. This text just puts all the pieces of the metabolism puzzle together. Amazing!
