Kite Paper, Assorted Colors, 100 Sheets, 6.25" Square by Mercurius

Perfect for making window stars. The color assortment is nice, but like other reviewers have noted it would be nice to have more blue-purple colors. You get 9 sheets of each color. Unfortunately the dark brown and dark green aren't useful to me, but keep in mind the fact that this is designed for making kites, which probably has different color needs. This paper has a waxy coating, so it's a bit shiny. It also has a lovely glowing translucency and folds/creases well. Some of the folds I do are complex and this paper handles it well, without tearing or showing fold marks when held up to the light. This is a good "starter pack" of kite paper, which I've purchased twice now over the years to use in conjunction with Magical Window Stars . We've made several stars using this pack of paper -- I've included a photo on this review. I wish the papers were a bit bigger in size, because you can only make the small versions of many of the models in that book, and some of them I can't do at all because the paper isn't big enough. But that can be remedied by buying larger sheets of kite paper.

This paper is nice for making stars, especially if you are doing it with a group and don't have time to prep the rolled sheets (which is all I have used up to this purchase). A down side would of course be that you can't vary the size as much, but you can still do a variety of folds to make different appearing stars. Useful for any craft that calls for transparent paper, but I am all about the stars!

Great weight and translucence. I wish the colors were a little brighter, but the ones sent were very rich and will do well for our project.

Love this set of colors. I bought these for making Waldorf window stars and they haven't disappointed. The sheets have a nice translucency while having enough weight to fold nicely. The size is perfect to cut down into 8 rectangles for the standard sizes stars. With the package this size I could cover every window in the house with stars, at a reasonable price. In comparison to the paper I received in a window star kit, this is definitely a step above and has a nice sheen to one side of the paper, giving it a polished look.

I think the quality of the paper is outstanding, and it's exactly as the paper I grew up using. The only complaint I have is the sheets are not full size.

The colors on these papers are vibrant, heavy enough to make them easy to handle, but transparent enough so that the light shines through. The papers come in a tablet that keeps them clean and unwrinkled. They may be a little more expensive than tissue paper, but they are cut to the correct size to make the points for the window star and are easier to work with due to the heavier weight. Once together, the star created by the individuals in my class looked absolutely beautiful on the windows.

This is a good starter pack for beginners making window stars, but the brown color looks more like black, and the deep green and deep purple don't look great against the other brighter colors. I don't find much use for the brown/black, deep green or deep purple as they are all darker than expected. The other colors are nice and bright.

Best product

Quality is fab, lots of colours to choose from and easy to work with. It also came in very protective packaging, preventing the paper from getting all bent. Really happy with this product.

Had a blast making these throughout the holidays. They’re super easy to peel out of the book it comes in! I wish there were different colour schemes to chose from though! (Hint hint)

These kite paper sheets are such bright colours, I can't wait to get started on making Christmas stars. They arrived quickly, and undamaged!
