How do I use the dimmer ? When I touch it it just turn the lights on then off.

the same switch that your touching, you slide your finger over the switch. kind of like flipping thru a stack of papers. It is all controlled thru the one switch so just play around with it and you will figure it out. Its about like a light dimmer switch with a slide that you would move , instead your just sliding your finger over the switch.

I want to try using these with the adhesive sticking to magnets for my metal mirror frame, would the magnets destroy the LEDs?

I dont think the magnets would affect the LED lights at all.
