How thick is the paper? Are they somewhat translucent or are they opaque?

The paper is not translucent, but I feel it is thin. It is fine for writing on I think, but you may want a bit thicker paper for art work projects. It is so economical, you can just use it to practice on, as many have suggested here.

No, it’s not edible at all! Do not eat! This paper is for ink brush calligraphy and chemically treated for preventing ink bleeding.

Can this paper be used with a gel plate using acrylic paint?

Yes.... BUT only if you let it dry completely on the plate. I teach courses on gel plate with acrylics and have done a lot of experimenting with this paper. It's very finicky and fragile when wet. If you let it dry all the way on the plate, which can take anywhere from 15 min to over an hour depending on other ambient factors, you can pull it off without ripping and sticking to the plate.

Does it have lines or any other markers on it? Does it holds printer ink well?

It does not have lines or any other marks on it. I have no idea if it holds printer ink, we used it for a calligraphy class! Good luck!

Exactly what I needed

This calligraphy paper was exactly what I needed for a class I was taking on Japanese calligraphy. It is thin, but that wasn't an issue, as it was primarily for practice purposes. So I wouldn't use this paper if you are intending to make professional calligraphy, but for practice or personal enjoyment, it will work out splendidly.

Thin but strong Japanese paper with a shiny, smooth side. Perfect for brush calligraphy, also for collage, mixed media etc, it is thin so the ink goes through to the back, but the brilliance of. colour I am achieving is amazing. Arrived very quickly, thank you.

très joli papier, très fin. Il faut peut-être avoir été initier au papier de riz pour apprécier ses qualités. Ce que je considérerais comme des faiblesses sont peut être des atouts pour d'autres. Très fin. Gondole sous l'encre . Se manipule bien pour les bricolages de papier mouillé et déchiré. Il faut essayer.
