It’s as described I guess but the colour isn’t that nice and the rings are very hard to get open when you have filled with pages etc. I suppose that’s a good thing to be shut right and all however this is for my 12 year old son so he finds it quite difficult to work with. It’s also super expensive (definitely better options at Officeworks) and not what o call real leather as it looks too fake colour wise. But I’m not a leather expert so I don’t know. The pocket is handy though

There's a brightness to the color which might make it seem like artificial, but it's very nice, simple, no need for an awkward zipper cause you aren't stuffing it with everything but the kitchen sink. Thanks to the person who left the review contradicting the one that said it wasn't real leather, I might not have bought this. Love it. Suede on part of the inside. This might horrify some, but I removed the stitching on the pen pocket withvan exacto knife, to make a full pocket, ( the pen holders are divided) cut a circle around the snap, so, it still snaps, looks a little rough when open, but I can add trim. Put a speck of glue where the cut stitching might loosen at the top. It's now a useful pocket, it was too deep for pens, hard to get them out unless clipped to the edge . And that can be done without the pockets.

I searched high and low for a leather 3-ring binder with a slot for a notepad, in this color (which I've seen called "camel," "saddle," or "cognac" variously), with NO zipper. I feel at this point like this is the ONLY binder that exists like this, and especially at this price point. I am so pleasantly surprised by the look and high quality of it! The size and shape are perfect, and it has such a clean, professional look. I work from my home, but now I almost wish I still worked at an office, just so I could carry this thing around! I read another review where someone said there was no way it was full grain leather, and that's absolutely untrue of the one I'm holding in my hands. It looks like high-quality leather, smells richly of leather, and feels wonderful. I think perhaps that person thinks "full grain leather" is pebbled (or "grainy" or something?)... so I will point out that full grain leather simply means the hide is used in full - which indicates it is a more unblemished hide. Because it is the full hide that's used, it is also a stronger leather and doesn't "chip" like some of those pebbled leather items one might purchase. In any case, this IS leather, and it is smooth. I imagine over time it will pick up scuffs and wear to a nice patina. I'm really pleased with this purchase -- and it is a FANTASTIC bargain. I highly recommend!

This is most definitely not full-grain leather, I doubt there is any real leather at all in this, and too me it feels, smells, and looks like PU faux leather. I guess time will tell if it will ever patina or last.

Please note: I did a lot of research on A-4 versus letter-size notepads. Letter-size pads will not fit in the slot on this notebook! I had to hack away at the cardboard to force a letter-size pad into the slot. That said, the notebook is very nice quality and did not have a noxious odor when I opened it. With dividers, it is useful in helping me organize my garden notes.
