MICROSHIFT Mezzo Thumb Shifter Thumb-TAP 7-Speed Optical

I rehabilitate a lot of bicycles, and when I need a replacement part for an upgrade I regularly use Microshift components. They work great and are cost-effective.

Used these to upgrade an old bike that was equipped with 21 speed grip shifters. These thumb shifters were a breeze to install and tune. The thumb shift design allowed me to keep my existing brake levers. This kit comes with both left and right shifters and new cables.

Very good quality for the money. It shifts actually better than my normal shimano budgets.The only downside is that it's made of plastic, so do be careful of not tightening the hex screw too much or else the clamp will literally break.

Nothing bad to say about them for the super cheap price. They are made of durable feeling plastic, they shift fine, and the cables are nice and long. Plus they are smooth so the cables glide through the housings well. If they were more expensive I would have liked to see metal construction but plastic is fine for $12.

Easy to install rear shifter worked great with rear mech. Front shifter different story. Cannot get it to index properly with my front triple- zero trim adjustments let alone friction option is available. Very disappointed with the lack of trim adjustments especially for the middle ring. Chain rub on half the rear cassette and I know the front mech is positioned correctly.Had to order a friction thumb shifter for my front mech/crank combo.At least this is an inexpensive shifter set so I’ll be keeping the right shifter for now and running a different friction shifter on the front.-A Retrogrouch

Fantastic replacement for grip shifters for kids. Took 10 minutes to swap out the grip shift on my son’s 24” mtb. The shifting is so much easier for him now, for the price you can’t beat these. I find the little ones can’t twist the grip shifts up easy enough. These fix that problem.

These are a low budget yet effective replacement for junky twist shifters on department store bikes. They work great with the factory derailleurs and index the shifts without the annoying grinding of the cheap twist shifters they replaced.
