Fixed Like magic!
This unit fixed my long-standing problem of reversed temperature controls and inaccurate vent position/mode actuator settings. I have a 2006 GMC Sierra 2500 LBZ. One of the stock climate control temperature levers pulled out and broke. Replacing this with a used factory "compatible" part caused both right and left temperature/blend actuator controls to be reversed. The left blend door actuator was also either full hot or full cold with no mixing. It caused my vent control/mode actuator settings to be inaccurate. I tried the recalibration procedure and swapped out two stock used "compatible" HVAC control units and new blend door actuators with no improvement. After hours and hours of troubleshooting, this instantly solved my problem. I don't know how long it'll last, but for now it is well worth the money. The only con I noticed is I can no longer communicate with or troubleshoot the climate control system with my autel scan tool. This is presumably because the dorman unit has its own internal programming and automatically self calibrates. I'll hold onto my old climate control units and swap them in if I ever need to do any further testing with my scan tool.

These are Low quality products, NO QC CONTROL ???
. This one is tighter controls and all the lights work, it controlled the temperatures perfectly on both sides of the vehicle. UPDATE: the passenger side slider for temp adjustment fell off, nobody abused it and as a matter of fact I hardly have a passenger in the vehicle. I slid it down one morning aand noticed it was sloppy, then it fell out. Dorman needs to stop following the crappy manufacturers and get their quality control in order to make sure We the people are not buying junk repeadely for no damn reason other than to line their pockets with our money. Now , the whole unit stopped working except for fan speed control. The Rt temp is stuck on hot the left is stuck on cool ??? No defrost light no nothing. These are just poor quality the sliders are held in with plastic glue or something ??? Just garbage ! Where can I get decent quality ?

Looks great
Been a few weeks since installed and still working perfectly. So far, so good and looks great. Easy enough to replace, but I would suggest reading the instructions as there are a couple of specific details that should be observed. Perhaps why others have had issues, don’t know for sure. If this unit fails, I will update my review.

Fixed my 2006 Silverado, knock on wood
The mixing door actuators and the main actuator for mode selection had a mind of their own. Sometimes they gave me heat, sometimes AC. I thought it was bad actuators at first, but it turns out it was the control panel. Instructions were straight forward and the vehicle identification step worked quickly on the first try. Update: I didn’t think to check all the functions on the panel after installing it because they worked before with the old panel. I just found out that none of the buttons work and I'm past the return window. No AC, no defog, no cabin recirculation. All these functions worked with the old panel. Update2: The panel somehow lost its programing after the initial installation. Not sure why. It worked for a month then started gradually losing function until only the fan switch worked. I pulled all the HVAC fuses and drove around for a day with them pulled then put them back in and the system reinitialized and works fine now. I don’t know why this happened and I hope it doesn’t become a regular, repeat occurrence. But it has been good a few weeks now. Update3: It stopped working again. I think it comes down to the voltage drop from starting a vehicle screwing up the programing if you don’t have a battery that’s in perfect shape and fully charged. My battery isn’t even a year old so this shouldn’t be an issue. This is a design flaw in the Control Module.

Product failed within 2 months.
I purchased this unit for my 2003 silverado. At the time my ac wasn’t working and these trucks are known for these climate controls. I replaced it as a last resort as everything else was already replaced. (Turned out to be a bad plug in the engine bay) long story short this new climate control worked fine so why not leave it in the pickup? So I left the new climate control in, today august 16th, 2021 the unit took a dump already and stopped working. No buttons would work, temperature would not change, and the vent control wouldn’t change. The only thing that worked as the blower motor control. Immediately after getting home I swapped back to my original factory climate control unit and it worked just fine. I followed the instructions when installing the new doorman unit yet after 2 months of using it the unit stopped working. It’s unfortunate timing as it does show that It is outside the return window, however be careful buying reman parts. I’ve never had good luck with reman parts and this is another example why I always buy brand new.

Lasted just past the warranty
It fit my 2004 1500 silverado perfectly. It worked great for the first six months. Then glitches started. First it kept recalibrating. Then it quit all together almost exactly a year after installation. Only reason I replaced mine was most of the lights stopped illuminating. I just reinstalled the factory unit. The controls always seemed stiff and the blue to red was a decal and not a good one.
