It really depends on the music festival. If it where Outside-Lands, which allows for 2.5L hydration packs with 2 or less pockets, then this would be okay.

Can you remove the bite valve so you don't have to bite for water to come out?

Hi, I don't know if you could remove it, but based on my other one if you did it would spill easily. You usually can remove them for cleaning and replacement because for some biters they may wear out. The bite valve on this model has an on/off lever.

if you get a lock for the pack is there anyway to lock the bottom pocket?
