Gioteck EX-01 Bluetooth Headset for PS3

This device is great and well worth the price. First the packaging. Unlike most new devices or accessories I buy these days, this one came in a very simple to open package. It was not heat sealed in a thick plastic that seems to get sharper than the scissors you need to open it! For this all you had to do was remove two pieces of tape, lift two tabs and the main piece just slides right out. The earpiece is then secured with a twist tie that is very simply removed. This is a company that knows people actually like to use the things they buy! Second is the included chargers. It does not use a standard USB connection to charge; however, they include a cable designed for plugging into a USB port. I use this PS3 Charge Station to charge my controllers and now my earpiece thanks to that cable. Now the actual earpiece. It is very comfortable and sits well on the ear. The loop that goes around your ear is very soft and flexible. As they say you will forget you are even wearing it. Or at least you would if it wasn't for the great sound quality. That little single speaker on the device is extremely clear. I have had no problems hearing people and no one has complained about being able to hear me. This device allows for great communication while playing, so it does add another level of fun to gaming.

When I was in the market for a headset, I really didn't know which way to turn. Then when I came to Amazon, this one jumped out at me. But the sleek look of it wasn't enough for me. I had to read some reviews to it to properly make up my mind. The few reviews there were, sold me on this headset, and goodness knows I am so glad they did. This headset is definitely one for the books. The audio quality is stellar. It is of diamond quality when you only expect bronze. The price tag makes you think that this headset must be of lower quality. Allow me to tell you all that this time great things really can come in cheap packages. It's been a few years since I picked this one up for less than $30. And just now is when it begins to falter on me. 3 years of wonderful service, for only $30. My friends you truly can't beat that. It fits well around the ear, and truthfully you can actually forget you have it on. That has happened to me on many occasions. Am I saying that it is the absolute perfect headset? No, but what I am saying is that if you just want to hear and talk to others without problems, this is the one for you. It doesn't cancel out other noise or anything like that but then again most of us are playing within quiet confines anyway... This headset is a beautiful stride for the service it provides. If you're caught between headsets and don't have that $100 to spend on the most expensive one, do not pass this little baby right here up. 3 years for $30 and possibly even more, I just used mine consistently sweat and everything has been absorbed by this little audio miracle. Wear and tear is finally giving way but I can't say I didn't get more than my monies worth. Just keep your sights on this little beauty. You won't regret it.

This is a cool looking device and for the price you can't go wrong. I just wanted an inexpensive headset for use with the PS3 as I am not a heavy game player. I charged it for about a half hour and paired it with my PS3 with no issues and was off and running with it. The ear-hook is rubber and does not hold the speaker tight against your ear, nor does the speaker go into the ear canal (the speaker is flat with the headset); however it is loud enough that it is not an issue. The sound quality for the price is good. Just to see how it works I paired it with my cell phone and tested it out. I made a few calls and the quality was pretty good as well; the person on the other end stated I sounded loud and clear as well. The only issue is that the primary user of the PS3 is my 8 year old son and the ear-hook is to big to hold securely on his ear. I was able to modify it for a better fit though by gluing some small strips of felt to the inside of the ear-hook to size it. He also says it sounds good to him as well. Overall I am happy with the quality of this headset and would recommend it.

It is super light-weight, hardly notice it hanging on my ear. I've used it 3 times so far, a total of about 6 hours and haven't had to recharge it yet. I like that the speaker is 'external' meaning it doesn't actually go inside your ear. This is more comfortable for an hours-long gaming session, at least its my preference. Why not 5 stars? Well, the audio is far from crystal clear. Not bad, mind you, just not as clear as it could be. Also, the product description says that it comes with a right and a left ear hook, allowing you to reverse it if you would prefer. Mine only came with a right hook. Not a big deal, probably wouldn't have used the left hook, but it said it was included in the description. Haven't tried pairing it with my phone, nor do I intend to. The package says its made specifically for the PS3 anyways. Set up was extremely easy. Took maybe a minute. For the price, its a great deal.

I give this a 1 star because the first 2 days of me having this it was working fine. Then my friends told me i started to sound like a robot. Then 2 days after sounding like a robot it stopped working. And the fact that there's no tracking number made me a little skeptical. So when it got dropped off im guessing it was out in the freezing cold weather for about 2 days because i checked on a tuesday and it wasnt there then i checked on thursday and it was there so either it was out there for a day or 2 days. Either way when i went to go get it, it was stuck in the mailbox because they dont know how to fit a package in a mailbox so i was sitting there digging the mic out of the box with my key in -0 degree weather for 30 f*cking minutes so after that sh*tty experience im not ever buying from gameseek again. So other than my crappy experience the product is sh*t so i do not recommend this product at all. Or just dont get it from gameseek.

2nd review ever XD I'm so satisfied with this product that it has driven me to write some good stuff about it :D Never had a headset before on my ps3 cause i didn't play too much online, a couple of months ago, i got hooked playing borderlands, red dead redemption, COD etc etc. Of course that when playing online, at some point, the need arises to be able to coordinate stuff with other players, so i decided to give this headset a shot. It has worked great !! Has good volume controls, easy to sync, nice package, voice transfer and sound are crystal clear (of course the quality of the line sometimes depends on internet speed). By the way, it's super light :O you barely feel it's on and it never hurts through long gaming sessions. If your looking for a good headset, buy this already ! Also for this price, you won't find anything better !! :D

I debated quite a while whether to go with 2 or 3 stars. Truth is, if I could do 2.5 I'd probably pick that! The Pro's: It works! And for only $20 (as of my purchase), that's pretty amazing for a Bluetooth headset of this (relative) quality. It syncs easily to the PS Vita (don't be fooled by the packaging that says it is "exclusively" for the PS3...it works fine with the PS Vita). It is light; easy to wear for a while. The Con's This is where my debate comes in...! I would call the sound quality mediocre at best. When I first heard it, I was thinking 1-star. Then I listened some more and shifted my impression to 2-star for sound. I think perhaps I was expecting too much...or got my hopes up from reading other reviews that said it has "fantastic sound". Honestly, it does not. The sound is "tinny" and even "scratchy" at times. This may partially be true because it is sits outside your ear, so I find myself turning the volume *way* up to hear everything, and in so doing probably hit the limits of the quality of the little speaker. So in the end I am going with 3 stars, which is a combo of 2-stars for sound quality balanced by 4-stars for Bluetooth headset value. Bottomline, if you want an inexpensive Bluetooth headset that actually works, but you don't mind mediocre sound quality, this is a good choice. If you are like me and just wanted to get a Bluetooth to avoid the hassle of having earbud wires dangling from your ear while playing, be aware you will be sacrificing a lot in sound quality vs. $10 earbuds. I'm afraid I may use this a lot less than hoped because it just doesn't produce the sound I'd like to hear. P.S. I have not used the mic for live discussions with anyone. I did try using it with the PS Vita "tutorial game" that uses the mic, and the playback sounded awful. But I have no way to know if that was the mic or the game distorting things.

A very good headset. It's nice and sleek. Hooks on ear easily, not too loose or tight, for me it's prefect. Battery life lasts for many hours, I've gamed for more then 5 hours straight with the headset and the battery did not die. Very comfortable. Comes with two ear hooks, for the left and right ear and a recharging cord. I've had it for more then 2 years and it still works. People can hear me clearly and I can hear them well too. The only problem I've had is a few times over the years the headsets out going voice, my voice, got extremely scratchy and the person on the other side couldn't make out at all what I was saying, I restarted the PS3 and it was fixed. I also deleted the headsets registration then re-registered it and that worked as well. This has only happened a few times, nothing major. Other then this there are no problems. If you're looking for a low priced, high quality headset this is it! A fabulous deal for only $20!

Tenia mis dudas de como sonaria este auricular, ya que el precio es irrisorio. Es cierto que suena un poco bajo. Por mucho que subas el volumen a tope, el sonido se mantendra en un nivel normal. Sin embargo se escucha de una manera clara y sin cortes. El auricular es muy comodo, no pesa y tiene un alcance optimo antes de comenzar a perder la señal. Si no tienes problemas de odio, este es tu auricular.

Je me suis procuré cette oreillette samedi, achetée pour jouer en ligne avec ma PS3, et je remercie tous ceux qui avaient déjà donné leur avis sur cette oreillette qui m'ont aidé dans mon choix. Elle est très facile à synchroniser avec sa PS3 il suffit de suivre le mode d'emploi en Français et ca va rouler tout seul :) Depuis je l'utilise à chaque fois que je joue en ligne et je les entend très bien et eux m'entendent bien également généralement. Un partenaire de jeu m'a dit avoir acheté l'oreillette Sony il a été dégouté. Je vous conseillerai donc à mon tour de porter votre choix sur cette oreillette, douce, légère,on ne la sent pas sur l'oreille. Au plaisir d'avoir pu vous convaincre :)

Very good sound quality comes from this little thing. Also the design is perfect so that it sits on your ear comfortably and the mic just hangs near the mouth, which I think is better than the mic being pressed on your cheek! This mic is definitely better than the PS3 mic, as it is a lot comfier and very easy to use. Quick delivery! Only problem I have with this is that I wish it would be a little bit louder which would be awesome, however for the price it is you cannot go wrong.

Für das Geld kann man egtl. nicht viel falsch machen. 12 Euro sind nun wirklich nicht die Welt. + stylisches Aussehen + sehr leicht + angenehm zu tragen + Lautsprecher liegt außen am Ohr an (kein In-Ear oder Semi-In-Ear. Genau deshalb eben sehr angenehm zu tragen) + Tasten leichtgängig um sie auch gut beim Tragen zu bedienen ohne sich das Ohr abzudrücken ^^ + leichte Installation mit der Konsole, trotz englischer Anleitung + LED-Anzeige für den Ladestand + Sprachqualität für diesen Preis ausgezeichnet (Etwas dumpfer als die Originalstimme, aber gut verständlich. Einen absolut klaren Ton, wie wenn die Person einem gegenübersitzt kann man für das kleine Geld nicht erwarten) + stabile und kompackte Bauweise (wirkt auf den ersten Blick etwas billig, da nur aus Plastik, aber wenn man es in die Hand nimmt ist es fest und stabil) + sitzt gut am Ohr (auch wenn der etwas weiche Ohrbügel das nicht vermuten lässt) +/- Ladekabel liegt bei +/- ETWAS zu weicher Ohrbügel (muss aber denke ich für verschiedene Ohrgröße und -dicken so sein. Bei großen Ohren würde es wahrscheinluch sonst drücken) +/- LED blinkt blau (langsam) während das Headset eingeschaltet ist - Bedienungsanleitung liegt nur auf Englisch bei (für mich kein Problem, aber vielleicht für andere) - nur für das rechte Ohr (Habe leider nicht rausgefunden wie man den Bügel vielleicht wechseln könnte. Möglicherweise kann man das Gehäuse öffnen und den Bügel umdrehen, wollte ich aber nicht ausprobieren. In der Anleitung steht davon nichts. Für "Linksohrige" also nichts) Anscheinend kann man das Headset auch für Handys/Smartphones/... verwenden (warum auch nicht, ist ja einfach nur ein Bluetooth-Headset). Habe ich aber noch nicht ausrobiert. Sollte ich das noch machen, liefer ich den Bericht nach. Fazit: Gutes, stylisches, preiswertes Bluetooth-Headset für englischsprachige "Rechtsohren". 5 Sterne, da für mich persönlich die negativen Punkte nicht negativ sind.
