Great antenna!
The antenna is branded as a Tecsun AN-200. This is a bonus because Tecsun is a good company and they apparently sell it through various suppliers going under different brand names. This made the antenna cheaper in price. This AM antenna really pulls in the stations and reduces noise clutter. I found that it actually works better if you put the radio inside the loop without hooking it up with the cord. Simply aim it toward the transmitter, tune the station on the radio, and then turn the knob on the antenna to tune the antenna to your frequency. I see about a 40 dBu increase in gain. This antenna works well indoors too. To work this antenna without plugging it into your radioโs antenna port, it must have an internal AM ferrite AM antenna to magnetically couple with the loop. Down in the picture is a Qodosen DX-286 that has an internal ferrite. If your radio has no ferrite, you can just plug it into the standard 3.5mm standard antenna input.

Solid performer
On a Degen radio I am able to listen to AM radio stations from Reno , ห150 miles away during daytime. Not possible with the internal ferrite antenna alone. If I place a VX-3 radio from Yaesu inside the loop I can actually hear signals on the AM band ; ) Their antenna is pretty poor and the receiver on AM medium wave is pretty deaf so you need all the help you can and this antenna does the trick. It can't perform miracles, but it certainly improves reception. One thing I noticed though is that the antenna jack is pretty much useless. Inductively coupled reception works great, attaching the antenna to the antenna input with the short cable which came with the antenna did not get me any good results. I tried on different receivers to see if its a problem with the Degen. Loose connection inside? I don't know but as long as it works nicely with the inductively coupled method (= those receivers need to have a ferrite core / bar antenna or else it does not work!), I am all fine and if I find the issue (be it with the radios /receivers or the antenna) I'll update the review accordingly.

Need for improved shipping package.
This would be a 5-star review except for the fact the shipping box was flimsy and broken open on arrival. The antenna connection cord was missing on arrival, and if not for an astute USPS delivery agent who recognized that it had fallen our and redelivered the following day, that would have been a missing item without a solution other than to return and replace the whole product. With all that said, this is a quality antenna tuner that arrived without damage with excellent function as expected.

Desktop Loop for MW reception
Great product for the money: Works really well. It turns my C.Crane radio into a "Super AM Radio." In addition, it says the brand name is "Sutekus" however, the name on the product I got is Tucsun.' A friend told me that he believed that all the AN-200's are made at the same factory in China, for what it's worth.

15% improvement is not enough difference. Still too much static!
Its a great idea with poor execution. Essentially, we are trying to listen to AM radio by our bedside clock radio and it has become very difficult to hear with all the static. I tried a different clock radio with an external wire antenna and it did not improve the signal quality. I decided to give this antenna a shot, and even though it does not plug into the radio and it does not require batteries, it made about a 15% improvement in the reduction of static, but not enough to really hear the radio clearly. I really wanted this to work for us. We have resolved to using our phone to stream the radio station, which sounds perfect. It seems to be the beginning of the end of AM radio when so many common items like LED lights and other modern electronics, interfere with AM reception. It's this reason no electric cars have an AM radio (in case you might have noticed.) I was hopeful this was all we needed, but alas, it is not the magic solution it claims to be. At least, not in our experience. We tried it following all directions, all possible placements and we could hear a difference, but not enough of a different to make it worthwhile. It's essentially a great idea, but executed poorly in my opinion. There has to be a better way!

It works pulls in MW/AM stations.
This is actually a Tecsun branded antenna, the instructions say Setukes though. It's good for medium wave, you can just put a portable radio near it and it should help pull in stations. I think the price might be a bit high for this though.

Hobbyist Searching Distance Stations
Great addition for indoor (outdoor) use for people looking to improve radio signals for their favorite stations or those who dial around seeking distant stations. Unit is portable, requires no power or batteries for use and as a bonus includes a common plug in cable for radios that have that option. Convenient for those not able to string up or have outdoor antennas for reception. Surprisingly decent performance and was able to hear many distant stations not heard before especially at night being indoors. Performance could also improve outdoors or in noisy locations . Your situation will vary. Price is affordable for those looking for a little fun too. Vendor advertised and delivered as expected too !!! Nice!

Small tuneable AM BC antenna Works surpringly well
Hi-Q coil, so makes for narrow tuning. Orient inright direction, peak tuning and signal jump out. Nearby frequencies ( 870 Kc is desired, but 850 is coming in on side- sharp tuning focuses on station you want). Looks nice in bedroom or den. I have built my own but this passes wife test (my stuff gets " not in living room with clunky thing). Suggested improvements to mfgr: little more weight on bottom and a switch to remove/ short some of coil so it will go higher in frequency to lower ham radio and foreign SW broadcast range up to about 5 MHz. Hear times signals late at night on 3330 KHz and 5 MHz, 160m hams at nigbt plus 80/ 75/ 49 meter bands. Delux model could get small 12 dB antenna preamp. However it works as advertized on AM broadcast very well for which it was designed, and does pick up strong SW a little on shortwave portable. Well worth the money.a

This product is perfect for my radio signal enhancement needs. I have a Yamaha amplifier which requires an external aerial. The usual wired loop for AM signals does not work well indoors. Putting the wired loop section in this productโs loop and tuning on the product gives a perfect reception result. Very happy.

Gives a boost but still hear alot of static in the signal. Better than nothing i suppose.
