Rightsizing your coffee maker is key for a 2nd good cup of coffee!
I live alone and usually have two larger size cups of coffee every morning. Typical standard 10 - 12 cup coffee pots have always been an issue for me as all warming pads are non-adjustable in temperature (why is that?). By the time I go back to refill my cup, the remaining coffee left in the pot is always burnt. Ironically if you buy a standalone warmer for a cup of coffee or tea, they are almost understandably adjustable in temperature. Coffee machine makers need to fix this imho. I could care less about clocks, timers, etc. Years ago, I switched to a 10-cup B&D glass thermal carafe coffee maker which worked great. No heating pad, no burnt 2nd cup of coffee. I couldn't wait too long for the 2nd cup, as with only two cups of coffee the heat from the small amount of coffee could not keep the remaining coffee hot for too long, but it worked. As with all things after years of faithful service, that pot eventually died. I then bought a brand new highly rated B&D 12 cup steel thermal carafe coffee maker as B&D no longer makes smaller thermal glass carafe models. A great machine, but a huge mistake. The 12-cup steel thermal carafe does not hold heat like the older 10-cup glass thermal carafe did, so the 2nd cup is almost always cool. B&D tries to put "lipstick on this pig" by strongly suggesting you preheat the steel carafe with hot water for a few minutes, then empty it, THEN make your 2-3 cups of coffee if you want it hot. Man, too much effort, too much waster of hot water. This little machine is sized perfectly for my needs. Its measure of a cup of coffee is much smaller than mine (smaller volume), and yes, the number of cups indicated on the waterline of the machine doesn't align with number of cups markings on the carafe (one cup less), I can live with that. This Amazon Basics five cup machine is good looking, small, simple, and very well made for what it is meant to be. While so much smaller, it can still use standard circular disposable coffee filers if you don't wish to use the reusable filter that comes with it. The burner pad is sized for the smaller amount of coffee so it DOES NOT BURN the second cup of coffee! It was $20 vs $65 for my now boxed up and stored 12-cup B&D steel thermal machine. My only "complaint" is I think the glass wall of the carafe of this Amazon Basics machine is VERY thin. You must treat it very gently or it is going to break. Well done, Amazon! This coffee marker is MUCH less expensive and far simpler than a Kerig coffee machine. While it's a little more work than a Kerig, not by much. -

Greatest addition to coffee regimen
The Amazon Basics 12 Cup Coffee Maker has been a fantastic addition our coffee regimen, as we tend to drink espresso sometimes I want brewed black coffee and this satisfied my needs. This coffee maker is simple to use, with clear, straightforward controls and an easy-to-read water level indicator. The 12-cup capacity is perfect for both small gatherings and my busy mornings. The brewing process is quick, delivering hot, flavorful coffee every time. I also appreciate the programmable feature, which allows me to set it up the night before and wake up to freshly brewed coffee. The machine's design is compact and sleek, fitting neatly on my countertop without taking up too much space. Cleaning is hassle-free with its removable filter basket and carafe. The warming plate keeps the coffee hot for extended periods, which is perfect for those days when I need an extra cup later in the morning. Overall, the Amazon Basics 12 Cup Coffee Maker offers excellent value for its price, providing reliable performance and convenience. Highly recommend for any coffee lover!

Great basic coffeemaker
Let me start out by saying that while I am no coffee connoisseur, I do know a decent cup of coffee. This coffeemaker brews a fine cup of coffee without all the whistles and bells that I find completely useless on fancier machines. When it's on, it's on until you turn it off -- great for that mid-morning pick-me-up. It doesn't talk to your phone, it doesn't turn itself off, it doesn't have a built-in clock or timer -- thank goodness! I also like that you can fill it above the 12-cup line, and it will still brew just fine. I like that it came with a filter basket, so I don't have to use paper filters. Yes, as other reviewers have said, it brews a *hot* cup of coffee, which I appreciate. Sometimes, I've got stuff to do that keeps me from drinking my coffee right away; and when I get back to it, it's still hot enough to enjoy. If you just can't wait for the whole pot to brew, you can sneak a cup, and the machine will pause until you put the carafe back. My only complaint, which is why I only give it 4 stars, is that it sometimes leaks a little water (maybe a tablespoon) on the counter when I slide the filled machine back into place. Doesn't always do it, but it's a little annoying when it does. I've also brewed pots of loose tea (3 Tbsp. tea) and teabag tea (5 teabags) and been quite happy with the result. And, the price is right.

Simple, Sturdy, Speedy
Making coffee with this small drip brewer is so simple. Measure grounds and put the grounds in the mesh, reusable filter (I like to use a pleated paper filter, too, but it's quite optional.) Fill with water to marks on the carafe for how many cups you want. Pour water into the fill compartment. Put the carafe in place on the hot plate and turn it on. Makes coffee speedily and consistently strong and tasty. Pot stays hot for a second cup. A cinch to wash and have ready for the next brewing. Perfect for small countertops or home office. Easy, thrifty way for making just a few cups, keeping it warm, cleaning up. Great value, highly recommend this product (conventional model).

5-Cup Coffee Maker
This compact machine brews a hot, fast pot of coffee using a handy reusable filter, but the flimsy plastic lid warps from steam and the narrow glass carafe constantly drips down the side when pouring.

It died at five months.
I used this coffee maker once a day for five months and it just died. out of the blue. I realize it wasn't pricey but I was hoping for at least a year of use. so right now that stinks. I have to get a new coffee maker.

Do NOT Buy This Coffeemaker... I Replaced it Within 2 Months
A coffeemaker either does what it's supposed to do or doesn't, and unfortunately I feel this one is the latter and a waste of money. Out of all the coffeemakers I've ever owned (and I've had a LOT of them), I can say this one is the absolute worst. The good stuff, and there's not much: A) It's inexpensive; and, B) it has a permanent filter. The bad stuff, and problems encountered: C) Every pot of coffee was crunchy, with more than an acceptable amount of coffee grounds in it, which is primarily due to the very quick heated water flow through the coffee within the filter. It's so much that the coffee ALWAYS spilled over the sides and flowed into the pot, even when brewing smaller pots of coffee and/or using a paper filter; D) Due to the coffee grounds spilling over the side of the permanent filter, coffee grounds would get into the flow seal, causing coffee to flow onto the heating element whenever pouring a cup of coffee, which then needed to be dried off before replacing the coffeepot, so the valve became useless and required careful cleaning after each and every use; E) The heating element is so hot that it caused coffee to evaporate much quicker than any coffeemaker I've ever had, making it taste bad within a shorter period of time, and even baking all the coffee away and I was surprised the pot didn't shatter due to the excess heat and baked on coffee and grounds in the bottom of it. I tried to like this coffeemaker, even doing something to limit the flow of the heated water over the coffee filter, but ultimately, this one had to go, and I chose to replace it. Quite honestly, I had far less coffee grounds from either a French press (which I feel results better tasting coffee and requires less cleaning after each use), or even "cowboy coffee" with ground coffee in a pot and poured through a screen or filter. Do yourself a favor and select a coffeemaker that does what it's supposed to do, because I don't feel this one does.

Ideal for Solo Coffee Lovers
This coffee maker is the perfect size for me. Keep in mind it’s small, but since I live alone, it works great. It comes with a removable basket filter, though I prefer using small paper filters (which I found on this site). I use filtered water from my fridge, and it brews a hot, satisfying pot of coffee. In the morning, I fill it to the 4-cup mark, which gives me about 2 cups of coffee (see photo).

Excelente calidad

Value for Price point
This little coffee maker is a real gem. This is also the first one I've ever used with the reusable filter basket. Compared to conventional paper filter the reusable one produces a pot of coffee in way less time and its no great bother to clean it either. I prepare everything the night before and I switch it on first thing in the morning and by the time I've done the usual things one does upon awakening I've got a pot of coffee waiting for me. Doesn't take up much space on the counter top either. It looks amazingly similar to a Black and Decker one I had for almost ten years before it burned out so we'll see how long this one lasts. For a basic filter coffee maker, Amazon, you did a good job and the price point can't be beat. It gets my 5 star recommendation if a simple no frills machine is what you're looking for.
