Avantree Orbit Bluetooth 5.0 Audio Transmitter for TV with 5.1 Surround Sound Passthrough Support, Class 1 Long Range, LED Display, Dual Link, 100% TV Compatibility Delivers No Lip sync Delay

I bought Bluetooth headphones for my step-dad for Christmas so he could use with their new Visio TV but found out that the TV won't output sound from the TV speakers if connected to Bluetooth headphones. This defeats the purpose of the headphones as mom wants to hear through the TV and he needs the TV so loud everyone else is uncomfortable with the volume (yes, he needs and has hearing aids, just rarely wears them). So I ran to Walmart and picked up a Monster brand BT transmitter to plug into the Optical port on the TV. Got that hooked up only to get an earful of static sound through the headphones. Turns out the Monster brand transmitter could only use PCM output which of course, the TV will only output Dolby Digital. So jumped on Amazon and found this one which claimed to accept Dolby Digital signals. Crossed my fingers and waited for delivery day. It arrived promptly and well packaged with everything needed. Instructions were easy to follow and I had it hooked up in a flash. Had to do a bit of fumbling around to figure out how to get the BT headphones to pair (on the headphone side) but once paired, crystal clear audio streamed right through! I added a second set of headphones and was able to watch as well. I didn't notice much latency either. There were a couple points where I thought the audio was a bit off, but it really was barely noticeable. This little device allows the TV speakers to still output sound at a comfortable level (or can mute it as well if no one else wants to watch) and he can hear beautifully through his headphones. Our living room isn't huge so certainly stays connected whenever in the living room but when I tried it out, I walked into the kitchen (about 30 ft away with a couple of walls in between) and it still held connection so seems to have a really good range! Only suggestion is to have the buttons be backlit. It's really dark where I have this positioned and so when I need to access the buttons, I have to grab a flashlight to see. The display is lit and visible, but not the buttons. So - set it up where there's access to light and you'll be fine. There are a lot of options for using this that I've not tapped into - like using it as a Bluetooth receiver or a bypass - but we really haven't needed those other features. It does everything we need and so very easy for my non-techy parents! Now that everything is connected, he just has to power on his headphones and they connect right away! He's a happy camper and so is my mom!

I own a pair of Nuheara IQbuds2 MAX to help with mild hearing loss. I am quite happy with them, but not so much the IQstream TV bluetooth transmitter that I bought with them. The main issue with it is that the buds require a 2 channel PCM digital stream to function, which is not unusual for headphones, but the IQstream then requires that the entire home theater audio system be set to 2 channel PCM because it cannot generate a 2 channel PCM stream from dolby digital or dts multichannel sources. This really degrades the enjoyment by others if I need to listen in with the IQbuds. Not to mention the number of menus I have to go thru to change a source from surround to 2 channel PCM and back. Enter the Orbit. For me the greatest feature is the Orbits ability to translate dolby digital and dts to PCM for the headphones which permits the rest of the home theater to operate as intended. I am not sure if there are any other units that do this. Once I figured out how to make the IQbuds2 MAX go into pairing mode so the Orbit could detect it, everything went flawlessly and simply. The connection is solid with no dropouts, the sound is great as one should expect, and the Orbits volume control is an absolute necessity since the IQbuds2 MAX set volume control is a software feature within its Android/IOS app and that is only available when the buds are bluetoothed to the phone (and two BT connections to the IQbuds at the same time is not possible). I am not using the digital optical (TOSLINK) passthru feature of the Orbit as I take a digital output from my home theater sound processor to feed the orbit, that seems like a very useful feature if one's setup involves just a TV and soundbar. The Orbit supports the volume up/down functions I have programmed into my Nuhera IQbuds, which I did not expect. Nice touch. While the Orbit price is higher than most of the other BT generic transmitters on the market, it is cheaper than the one offered thru Nuheara and with the unique features such as surround sound compatibility it seems in line with other premium products in this space.

I really dig Avantree stuff tbh. I've been using their Oasis transmitter since 2017 and I also have their Audition headphones, which I use occasionally. I watch about 99.9% of tv using my headphones so their Oasis and this Orbit are must-haves for me. Here's what I love about them. A lot of their stuff is priced great. Their customer service is top-notch. I've contacted them probably about 7x. They also replaced a pair of my Audition headphones that broke without even asking them too. This product mostly positives, one con (in my book). - It's EXTREMELY easy to set up. Plug a couple of cables in (optical, power, etc), put my headphones in pairing mode, hit the button on the Orbit that says "connect" and bam, done. Sound is great. I love that I have no worries. If anything happens I know that their CS responds fast and will be there if I need them. - it saves SIX headphones! The Oasis saves 3. I'll watch and if a pair runs out of battery I will switch to another pair. Unfortunately, I have about 5 sets of headphones sitting around at one time so, if I pair one that isn't already paired, it will delete one of the previous 3. Which is the biggest reason I got these, 6 headphones. - It's usb C, thank gosh. Any devices still using micro usb needs to switch because those will be obsolete here soon. My only big con is the backlight display, I wish you could dim it down or turn it off. It stays on too long (55 sec) whenever you touch a button on the headset (vol + vol -, mute) or connect/disconnect a bluetooth device. I love that it has it but I rarely need to use the screen so I don't need that light as much, 10 sec if you push a button on the device would be sufficient. The bottom also has a light that doesn't turn off.

I bought this product to replace an earlier Avantree model (BTTC-417), which I had been using to interface my Samsung TV to my Sony wireless earbuds. The earlier product did work, but the volume, even at the highest setting, was very weak. I was delighted that the installation of the Avantree Orbit product was super easy and super quick... all I needed to so was to plug the power into an available USB port on my TV, and connect the optical cable from the TV audio output, to the optical input on the Orbit. The Orbit quickly found three potential Bluetooth devices, including my Sony wireless earbuds... and within a few seconds, I was connected and hearing audio with very satisfying volume. A few minutes later, I connected the optical output of the Orbit to my surround sound system, and it all worked perfectly. This device resolves a problem with all of the recent Samsung TV's: while the TV's purport to support wireless earbuds directly, they do so without any control of volume... the TV's volume control is inoperable while the TV is using the optical audio output. Therefore, an external Bluetooth transmitter is necessary. The Orbit is admittedly expensive, at around 3x the price of the previous model I was using... but the ease of installation, the inclusion of an optical pass-thru for driving sound bars or surround sound systems, and the provision for lots of audio volume, make it all worthwhile. Avantree, if you're listening: the only thing that would make this good product great, would be the inclusion of a simple volume remote control. All of the Samsung owners who need a device like this, and who can't remotely control audio volume, would be eternally grateful!

I thought this item would solve my problem. It did not. My wife and I have been using RF headphones for years and have been very happy with that technology. However there are a lot of wires involved; power cord, left and right RCA cords, charging stand, etc. If you use the headphone jack on the TV it cuts off the internal speakers. Sooooo, I thought I'd try Bluetooth headphones and get the latest technology. Because we both use headphones at the same time, this Orbit transmitter seemed like a great solution. I had no trouble with the install and pairing the phones, that went as advertised. The problem was when I tried to use them several days later, they wouldn't pair automatically. I had to get behand the wall mounted tv to access the Orbit and re-pair the phones. I used the USB input on the TV to power the Orbit but it did not turn off the power to the Orbit when I turned off the TV. I finally learned that you need to turn on the headphones before you turn on the TV, then they will usually pair automatically. Problem solved? Not so fast. A week later I tried to use the Orbit again and although the pairing went well, there was no sound. I checked all of the optical cables and they were fine- signal to my soundbar was fine but no sound to the headphones except a faint click. So I returned the unit and got a replacement, however the replacement had the same problem, PLUS when it did work, the volume was not what I needed so I am returning the replacement and trying another supplier.

Avantree makes a great product to retrofit older vehicles for hands-free communication, the CK11 device, that I have used for years. When I wanted a AptX Low Latency system, I got the Avantree Aria Pro 2 and Priva II Transmitter. At first the quality of this setup was good, but eventually degraded and it became finicky to pair and configure those two. Initially I hesitated to upgrade to the Avantree Orbit and the Audition Pro headphones, but considered they had to be an improvement over what I had, so I did it. I originally chose all these specific products from Avantree because they offered a 60-day money-back guarantee as well as a generous 24-month warranty for most of their products. 8 months in however, I had real difficulty pairing compatible devices and then, suddenly, everything just quit working - - no sound from the headphones, no signal received or sent by the Transmitter. Avantree makes available a variety of ways by which to contact them when there's a problem. I made use of all of these, first through chat, then email and finally by phone. Their response time was typically within minutes of my inquiry, making it easy to get quick answers when I needed them. They were also willing to help out with issues that arose while pairing their products together. Avantree's customer care team provided excellent quality responses that were both accurate and helpful, but we just couldn't get either one of these to work. I was able to file a successful warranty claim, due primarily to my persistence and their patience in listening to my concerns. Of course, I had to document they were still under warranty. I sent Avantree photos including a proof-of-purchase receipt showing date purchased, model number/name, Amazon order number, etc. Support described what I had to do to return the malfunctioning (actually NON-functioning) components. They provided detailed instructions on how to package them securely before shipping them back so they arrived safely. Avantree replaced both my defective items with brand new items. They sent these without requiring me to return my defective items back to them first, giving me plenty of time to test the products, both separately and together, and ensure they worked properly. This level of availability has to make Avantree one of the most reliable companies in the industry. This whole experience just confirmed to me that purchasing from Avantree is the best value for my money. They definitely stood behind their product, and I feel like they actually wanted me to be satisfied with my purchases. I am very grateful for their commitment to honest, quality service. This is rare in the business world now-a-days. My 60-day trial period is nearly up, but I'm not too worried since I know I still have nearly a 2-year warranty and a company that stands behind it. Orbit is a GREAT way to get wireless blue tooth connectivity. Orbit Pro has a remote to control it with, we use ours with an Amazon Alexis and Roku module! Either way, it works great.

Had my turntable hooked up to the 1 Bose Soundbar via Orbit's 1st BT connection and grouped all 4 BOSE speakers in BOSE app. The 2nd BT conection to a different brand non-smart BT speakers. Now I have 5 speakers playing in different rooms all at the same time, in sync! One short coming is that you cannot delete paired device individually so if you are anal about it, the only way is to reset the device entirely. Love it and now I just hope it will last.

After exploring all possible solutions, I finally found the product I wanted. The major advantage of transmitter only model is that it's free from battery. It's plug and play type of thing. Pairing except Sony headphones are bliss. You have to manually set into pairing mode while connecting with sony headphones. Great bluetooth range. Seller Bkcorp is reliable. They source the avantree products from official channels only. So not to worry about the warranty.

Da mein Fernseher zwar theoretisch Bluetooth beherrscht (aber "natürlich" nur SBC und das mit selbst für SBC ungewöhnlich hoher Audio-Latenz, die er auch nicht kompensiert), aber irgendwie meinen guten Noise-Cancelling-Kopfhörer nicht mag, war ich auf der Suche nach einer Lösung. Einen Kopfhörer-Ausgang hat der Fernseher natürlich auch nicht mehr, er hat ja Bluetooth! Seufz. Also brauchte ich ein einen BT-Sender, der sich in den TOSLink-Ausgang zwischen TV und Soundbar einklinken kann. Vorhang auf für das Avantree Orbit. Das Orbit ist dem Oasis Plus in den Fähigkeiten recht ähnlich, sieht aber ganz anders (ich finde: besser) aus und hat einen entscheidenen Vorteil: es versteht digitalen Bitstream-Ton. Avantree versucht dies zu bewerben, ohne die Worte "Dolby" und "DTS" in den Mund zu nehmen. Die Patente auf die Kern-Formate sind zwar meines Wissens soweit abgelaufen, d.h. einen 5.1-Decoder für AC-3 und DTS Core darf heutzutage wohl jeder programmieren. Aber mit den Marken zu werben, dürfte trotzdem nicht billig sein. Also wirbt Avantree damit, dass das Orbit Streaming-Dienste wie Netflix und Amazon Prime "plug&play" unterstütze, womit sie im Klartext meinen: das Gerät dekodiert auf Wunsch die optischen Surround-Daten an die Soundbar. Das klappt bei mir auch problemlos. Diskretes Surround per optischem Kabel ist zwar eigentlich veraltet, wer aber einmal sein Glück mit HDMI-ARC versucht hat, weiß vielleicht die relative Einfachheit zu schätzen. Außerdem finde ich echtes 5.1 allemal qualitativ besser als neuere Soundbars, die vielleicht dann sogar offiziell Atmos und DTS-X bieten, dafür sich aber auf virtuellen Surround-Sound von vorn beschränken. Wenn man nicht deutlich mehr Lautsprecher verbauen möchte, sind Atmos/DTS-X halt nicht viel besser als 5.1. TOSLink mag leider in der näheren Zeit aussterben, aber vielleicht kann dann mein nächster Fernseher ja selbst aptX-LL, also wer weiß, was die Zukunft bringt. Derzeit ist für mein Setup das Oasis jedenfalls perfekt. Die Einrichtung gestaltete sich einfach. USB-Stromversorgung anschließen, beide TOSLink-Verbindungen (ein zusätzliches Kabel liegt bei), fertig. Das Koppeln an meine Kopfhörer klappte auch problemlos, aber erst nachdem ich im daneben liegenden Smartphone kurzzeitig Bluetooth abgeschaltet hatte. Die Tonqualität ist gut. Das Oasis dekodiert den Bitstream und liefert saubere, räumlich gut auflösende Stereo-Daten an den Kopfhörer. Das Bitstream-Signal wird außerdem unverändert an die Soundbar weiter geleitet. Man hat also gleichzeitig die Möglichkeit für Surround im Heimkino und für Ton per Kopfhörer, ohne im Fernseher das Tonformat umschalten zu müssen. Die Latenz ist bereits bei normalem aptX mit 100-120ms ein gutes Stück besser als bei SBC, aber wird natürlich noch etwas besser bei aptX-LL (ca. 40ms). Wer hier empfindlich ist, muss also die passenden Kopfhörer anschaffen; zumindestens aptX sollte von diesen unterstützt werden, bei SBC wäre zumindest mir die Latenz generell zu hoch. Das liegt übrigens nicht am Format selbst: damit wären Latenzen von 50ms und weniger drin; aber die meisten Implementierungen bringen es auf mindestens 200ms, oft sogar 250-300. aptX hat hier den Vorteil, dass die Implementierung immer von Qualcomm kommt, also sich immer praktisch identisch verhält. Wer mit zwei Kopfhörern gleichzeitig arbeiten will, sollte außerdem beachten, dass hier immer nur der "kleinste gemeinsame Nenner" benutzt wird: kann ein Kopfhörer aptX und einer aptX-LL, wird für beide normales aptX benutzt. Kann einer nur SBC, wird für beide Kopfhörer SBC benutzt.
