My go-to for years
This works great! I usually leave it on quite a bit longer because I have really dark hair. It doesn’t get blonde but it bleaches my hair enough to where I can add a different color. It’s always my go-to brand for bleach and fun colors!

Best hair bleach yet
This review is for the lightening bleach dye. This stuff seriously works great! I know people complain the bleach burns. But what I did was I deliberately avoided the scalp. I colored almost to the root, but not quite. I also made sure I didn't wash my hair in any hot or warm water before hand, so that there are no open pores. Then I made checked to make sure I didn't have any scratch or cuts anywhere near or on my scalp my scalp, because I want to avoid any burns. As you know, hair bleach can cause a burning sensation. But this can all be avoided. This product specifically says, do not leave on for more than an hour. It doesn't state why. But I suspect the Reason being is it can turn your hair color into this funky green. It started to on mine. And I immediately washed it off. Of course that's not their fault, I wanted to leave it on a bit longer because I wanted the color to turn white. Another good reason to wash it out in before it hits an hour, is because bleach will dry your hair up. And it can even make your hair look fried. I really recommend you wash out by an hour, but check every ten minutes because you might get the results you want earlier . If the results are not to your liking, try again the next day so your hair has time gone replenish and rejuvenate before you bleach again. I apply either argon oil or Moroccan oil. I did all that, and it's the best 8 bucks I've spent on hair bleach yet. I have also posted a picture of the results. I hope this helps :) Update: I have now also tried the lavender lust. Best purple I've ever tried! And it only took 30 minutes! As others have said, it will stain. Just think permanent marker status. So be very very careful. If it stains your skin, just use alcohol. That did the trick for me.

Interesting Result, Not What Expected
To give you some background, before I used this particular lightening bleach, I had used Splat's "Lusty Lavendar" a couple of times to make my hair purple. In that kit, they give you essentially the same bleach as they are selling here, to lighten your hair before you put the colour in. That bleach worked great at lightening my light-brown hair to a brassy blonde (as it was supposed to). After having the purple for several months, I decided I wanted to go with a different colour. The idea was to bleach it blonde, use a brightening shampoo and conditioner, and end up with a platinum-blonde-ish colour that I could then use as a base for hair chalking. (I checked to make sure there would be no ill-effects if I bleached my purple hair) Bleaching my hair would also make it easier for me to change my hair colour again, once I got tired of the blonde. That was the plan anyway. We applied the bleach for the maximum time (about 1 hour), but the bleach did not take out all the purple. I ended up with this blonde-white-pink that was layered and not even uniform in colour. It wasn't what I had planned on, but it actually looked very interesting. I didn't want to put more bleach in my hair, for fear that it would make my hair fried beyond hope. So now I have the most unique hair colour I think I've ever seen. So, if you have a crazy hair colour, keep in mind that you may not end up with what you were planning on. This kit also included a shampoo and conditioner to apply after the bleach has been rinsed out. I thought that was a very good idea. My hair definitely felt finer after using this bleach, so I wanted to make sure it was nourished properly ASAP. That is exactly what the provided shampoo and conditioner is for.

Let’s be honest y’all
Everyone thinks splat has a terrible image and all that is straight up, the only dye or bleach that works with my hair. As a girl with 4b curls it’s a tough time finding a bleach or dye that can get ALL OF MY HAIR ya know so I was happy to see this bleach brings my dark brown to a light blonde! Actually amazing and the dye it’s beautiful as well. EDIT 2 YEARS LATER: the color has just started to come out of my hair it’s blonde and brown/green

This brand may have other good products ( I don't know I've never used them) or maybe I got an expired box (didn't want to dig it out of the garbage after the fact) but knew better to check expiration first so that's on me. Target & CVS sells this exact product for 5$ cheaper with no long wait time and that's on me to BUT that being said....... THIS DAMN PRODUCT DID NOT MIX WELL PERIOD. It stayed grainy and super runny the entire time making application a nightmare. Yes, I followed directions to a T! You could see the granules on my hair even though I tried to blend it in. Should have just thrown in it the garbage where it belongs and not proceeded but hey I never worry as I can fix mistakes with hair pretty easily. So I finished the application and IT DIDN'T REALLY DO ANYTHING EXCEPT DRY MY HAIR OUT BADLY & GIVE ME DOME UNEVEN RUST COLOR IN PATCHES OF HAIR. For me that supports the fact that the product did not mix and develop as it should have. Trust me on this I've done my own hair for years. I promise, if you're a brunette and feel comfortable doing your own hair either go to Sally's and buy lightening powder and developer or try Loreal Feria absolute platinum if you're looking to lift from dark to blonde. It generally takes more than one cycle to lift then a good purple shampoo and mask to tone the brassy/yellow but, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY or TIME on this inferior product. Not worth the damage to your tresses!

OMG, This was amazing!!! I started with hair next to black.. I used one of these (badly i may add) I only managed to do the top of my head.. so, i went orange on my top and normal colour on sides and back.. It's cool because I bought 2 (i thought to myself) After using the first one, i knew what to expect.. so, Naturally I thought nothing as I piled it on my head and rubbed all the hair (like i had done the first time) It was only a matter of about 3 minutes of wait time before I started to see my skin peel off my forehead (naturally i freaked the fcuk out) so I washed all of what remained of that bugger 2nd Bleach out... (fcuk I thought to myself) I had to go buy more.. I bought another 2. Had to work in my shop the next 1 and a 1/2 weeks with what my hair was.. a natural blonde going ginger mess.. Anyway.. With embarrassment later (naturally making me more confident overall) the 2 more came.. I used one as soon as I could.. BOOM Bright blonde all around.. I couldn't have been happier.. I was finally able to dye it blue like I wanted (and with the yellow tint in the hair that was left It went a cool cyan blue) I then proceeded to give the other one to my friend who also loved it.. I could have used it too and probably ended up platinum if I wanted to.. Overall IF YOU USE IT PROPERLY, RESULTS ARE AMAZING!!.

It was opened inside. The blue powder was loose and when I put it in the bottle it acted different then last one I bought. It didnt mix well like it was expired. In pick is the bleech once I took out everything. Everything was covered in it. (Edit) I moved it to 3 stars. It still worked OK but it was still a mess inside the box

I will preface this review saying I have colored my hair many time, many colours, with many different brands and products. I will also preface my review saying I used this on VIRGIN HAIR. This was hair regrowth after shaving my head to short stubble for almost a year before letting it grow to where it is today. I will also preface saying the feelings mentioned below have never happened before with other products including other bleaches. So now for my review: This was my first time using SPLAT products, and I found the instructions to be less clear than I am accustomed to. Once I found the applicable section I began following the steps in order. This bleach is WET, like super drippy, watery and runny type wet! Thankfully I had my husband nearby to catch the many drips I couldn't easily reach. The whole time this product was on my head I kept having really big full body shivers, just one at a time but I had several of them. I was not cold, and there were no drafts or anything that would make me cold. Additionally my head was throbbing. It was not hurting like a headache but I felt like my brain was throbbing none the less. On top of that my scalp felt very uncomfortable as well. I have used various other products to bleach my hair before and this has never happened. So after 20 minutes I rinsed it out because honestly I didn't feel like it was doing good things to my body. I rinsed it thoroughly, and used the pouches included in the kit. My hair felt SO bad. As soon as the bleach was out of my hair my brain and scalp returned to normal. No more random huge shivers, no more pulsing brain, no more scalp pain. My hair was a very sour yellow colour, but I didn't honestly care because of what I just went through. It also felt really over processed, even though the instructions said to go longer than I had. Having bought purple toner from another company I liberally applied to my hair, waited and rinsed. My hair was still very lemony so I reapplied the toner. It felt better, but my hair still felt wrecked! I rinsed thoroughly and then double conditioned with my regular conditioner. After all of that my hair is now reasonably soft, damaged for sure, and still lemon yellow. I am going to give my head a break, but I will now have to put colour over this. Thinking about a purple or something, but one thing I know is I will not be buying or using SPLAT products again. Natural colour: honey blond Goal colour: white Condition before: super healthy and soft virgin hair Colour after: lemon yellow Condition after: dry, over processed, and not at all healthy. Pictures: one of my final result, one with my toner on!
