Another Schrade home run !
I ordered this after receiving an SCHF57 and wanted something bigger (couldn't bring myself to return the smaller knife as it's a great knife as well). Well made knife and sheath just like it's little brother. It came sharp enough for this type of knife with a nice symmetrical grind and has only been stropped to maintain the edge after a good bit of carving. I did initially hit it with a ceramic rod and strop for a screaming sharp edge. Love the feel of the G10 scales and heft of this knife. Like a few reviewers said...the sheath was so tight I could barely get it out at first, thought it might have been accidentally glued in. I fixed this by pulling the knife slightly out of the sheath and setting it in the Florida sun for awhile. Bring it in to cool down with the knife still slightly out of the sheath. Now it's perfect, with good retention and still no rattle. If it's still too tight for your liking.....repeat the process. This is my 3rd Schrade in a few months and they've all been well made, outstanding value knives. I could care less where it was made and am thankful to be able to buy such a great knife for so little $$. I'll just spend the money I saved in a nice AMERICAN restaurant with my English girlfriend. In a SHTF situation if I only had room for one knife, this is the one I'd take. Thanks for another great knife Schrade and Amazon !

Little Blade Than Can
First let me say that I love that Schrade made a universal sheath. Thank you. The steel on this is supposed to be 65Mn high carbon. Blade length is just a tad over 3.75 inches. It does come with a ferro rod and a striker too. Seems there were some initial issues as to whether this knife could perform as a fire starter. Several videos on line prove that it can if you do some minor adjustments to the blade. So here are the pro's: Very light weight at 6 ounces. Love the textured handle. Not sure if it is Micarta or not but it fits my hand like a glove. No slipping yet. Full tang with nice lanyard hole at the top end. Sharp but you will need to do some fine tuning. A non issue for me. Perfect size for general tasks and so far it appears to be very sturdy. Some light gimping on top of the blade which actually feels good. You can baton with it just don't try to cut red woods with it. Smaller limbs are no problem. Feathers wood decent enough. Has a good balance. You can remove the ferro rod holder. Cons: Non that make this a bad knife. The sheath is a tad bit tight but hey over time that will change. Overall I highly recommend this if you prefer smaller and more controllable knives.

Great knife and sheath, but the belt loop is way too big.
High carbon steel, G-10 handle scales, and a kydex sheath with a flint rod for only $30? This knife is awesome! It came very sharp, and the handle is very comfortable. My only complaint would be the belt loop. It's way to big, which makes it difficult to withdraw the knife quickly. The loop tends to slide around on my belt. The flint rod holder is detachable, and there are multiple mounting options, but I'd reccomend getting a tek-loc belt clip too if you plan to purchase this knife. The new coating that Schrade is using is holding up very well. The blade stell is very tough. I threw this knife into a tree multiple times, and the blade didn't bend of break anywhere.

Just a darn good knife
I really like this series of knife. They hold a good edge. They sharpen nice. They’re durable. And they’re affordable.

Great knife
So impressed by this knife. Schrader makes a solid piece of equipment. I am usually a Gerber or Sog guy. However this knife makes me second guess it all, purchased based on reviews and the style of the knife. Definitely was not disappointed. Sheath is solid as ever, locks in great, knife is very sturdy and feels amazing. The price is even a better bargain, most knives like this are around $60 and up. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a solid, reliable, cheap working knife.

Best value quality full tang survival knife
This is by far the best value and highest quality survival knife I have ever purchased, for the money. The fit and finish are impeccable, it came sharp as a razor and holds a good edge, and the sheath is slim, lightweight, and low profile. I removed the belt buckle and fero rod attatchmebts (which is very easy), gave it a custom camo paint finish, and tied a paracord lanyard to add a nice looking functional touch. This knife now holds a coveted place in my bugout bag. Get one today! 👍🏼

Best knife under $50!
First off let me say that the reason i cary this knife is for personal defense as an EDC, so i wont be chopping trees with it. With that being said i feel like it fits the bill way better than most people's folders/assisted knives. Its bigger but not obnoxious ( than a folder ). And in addition, there are no locks to fail on you. The 65nm steel is the same steel used on my Chanceinhell machette by CTKT which is a steel chosen for toughness, so as long as you use it as a knife i anticipate 0 failures. The balance of the blade is also on point, making it fun to twirl or transition from blade up or blade down with a little practice. The sheath locks the knife in place with little rattling, and the ferro rod provided comes with a striker so you wont need to file the blade or mess up the edge using the knife to strike it. I love it so much im hesitant to use it for dumb shit only because i want to preserve the finish on it. Definately a great buy! Now for people who arent nerds about knives let me tell you that this is not a stainless, so dont be letting it get wet or stay wet. Clean it and oil it after repeated use and keep it dry when you can to prevent rusting. If you have 100, 200 or even 500 dollar knives in your collection i would still recomend this knife. For $27, you wont cry if the cops take it or you misplace it, and you will know that you have a solid piece on your hip. P.s. i have medium size hands so this fits me well. A person with large hands will not appreciate this knife as well as the handle scales are on the thin side.

Good quality for price. Knife not fully sharpened on delivery, but easily rectified. Feels very sturdy in hand. Fire starter works well!
