Literally saved my old Sony stereo from the trash!
I was actually about to throw away my old Sony stereo system because it didn't have Bluetooth, but I decided to give this Besign adapter a shot first. I’m glad I did—it works perfectly. The Highlights: • Breathed New Life into Old Tech: I can now connect my phone directly to my vintage Sony speakers. It’s a much cheaper (and more sustainable) fix than buying a brand-new system. • Impressive Range: Since this is a "Long Range" model, I can walk around with my phone in my pocket without the music cutting out or stuttering. • Easy Setup: The RCA connection is solid and provided a much cleaner sound than I expected for the price point. One Minor Note: • Power: Just remember it doesn't come with a wall plug for the USB power cable, so you'll need a spare one. Bottom Line: If you have an old high-quality stereo gathering dust, don't toss it. This $25-ish fix makes it modern again.

Works, just know it does not come with charger/ac adapter.
Overall rating: 4.5 stars. Bought the unit to add bluetooth capability to an old Sony amplifier/receiver. I read many reviews for various BT adapters, many claimed problems with range or connectivity. Happy to report this one works for me. My old amp is inside a cabinet and I have no connectivity/signal loss or signal drop issues with my Samsung phone walking away from the line of sight, with the cabinet doors closed or through walls (outside in the patio), probably 30 ft or so, haven't really needed to try it further. Initial connection was a breeze. Maybe it's just my Samsung phone, but I had to restart it for it to scan and find the BE-RCA device to pair it. Initially, I plugged it in the front Video/Audio LR inputs, but that didn't work, so I had to find my way to the back of the unit (it is in the cabinet) and it worked fine once I plugged it into the CD L/R RCA inputs out back. Sound quality is good. I can't really make an audiophile comment, but it sounds just fine when I stream from my phone (Amazon Music, Spotity, YouTube...), no static, volume level is fine. I use the amp to play tunes to wired speakers indoors and outdoors, looking for good vibes and beats, not a mindblowing immersive sonic experience. In the box: -BE RCA unit with antenna already attached. -USB cable (for power). -RCA to RCA stereo (L and R) cable. -3.5mm male to 3.5mm male audio (aka "headphone") cable. A couple of near-misses for me: 1. The unit needs power from an AC adapter. It only included the USB cable, but no adapter block. Fair is fair: the product description of what is in the box does not indicate that the block is included, but just a heads-up to avoid frustration. 2. The RCA out plugs on the back of the unit are color-coded (white and red, respectively), but don't indicate which one is L and which one is R. Just so you know, white is usually for L and red is usually for R. ("Red" starts with "R"). Neither of these points made me regret the purchase and return the unit, so this is a keeper. It works as advertised and appears to justify my needs and reason for purchase.

Does what it's supposed to do, but has one slight flaw
I'm fairly technically capable, and this unit performs very well given the technology it lives within. It connects effortlessly to my phone and other BT devices. It is small, has really excellent range, and does exactly what I bought it for. I have a pool, and I use my old stereo to power some outdoor speakers so everyone can listen to music while swimming. My old solution prior to purchasing this unit was to run a physical wire from my stereo to the outside to plug in our phones. That, of course, is less than ideal, for many reasons, which is why I "upgraded" to wireless BT. HOWEVER, there is one really big difference between my old wired solution and this new BT one: VOLUME. The volume output to the speakers is approximately 50% via BT compared to the wired solution. And this matters a lot to me because we have to have the volume pretty high to overcome ambient conditions and nearby road noise. This is NOT an issue of me just turning up the volume on my phone. I know what I'm doing. This is strictly due to the DAC's output level on the BE-RCA unit itself. I used to get PLENTY of volume at about 50% of the max volume on my amp, but now I have to put it at 100% and the volume is sort of acceptable outside using decent speakers. My fear is that there will be some issue down the line by running my amp at max volume all the time. However, I'll be keeping this little BT unit around for a while because the convenience of being able to connect and control things out at the pool wirelessly exceeds my concerns. I'm also not sure if the sound quality will be suffering since I'm maxxing out my amp, but at least initially it seems OK. To be honest, the indoor sound quality at lower volumes was very good and I think for the money this product is excellent, especially the Bluetooth range. I've never lost signal walking around my pool, which means I've been about 50 feet from the receiver and it's been flawless. Very impressed by that, for sure. If you just want to breathe life into your old stereo system by streaming tunes from your phone to it indoors, this thing is amazing for the money, just be prepared for some volume loss.

AWESOME!!!! Why didn't I buy one of these sooner?!? Updated! Still love it!
1. It's very easy to connect, re-connect and operate. (Some brands are more difficult than others.) 2. It sounds great! 3. The range is excellent! 4. You'll wish that you had bought one sooner! 5. I'm going to buy another, just because it works so well. Update 9-13-24: Still working great! If I could give it another five stars, I would. If you have a lot of Bluetooth devices, like I do, you know how some are harder to connect to, than others. It often feels like you're fighting something, that shouldn't be so difficult, or inconsistent, to connect with. This receiver connects right away, on the first try, every single time. I'm an EE, by profession. I'm very comfortable with technology, and it's not often that a product impresses me this much. Bluetooth has been around, for a long time, and you should NOT have to struggle with it, just to connect to it. If you've ever felt this way, and worry that this is just another one of those devices, fear not, my friend. This device won't give you these problems. It's not often that I come back and update a review, but this receiver has impressed me enough, that I felt compelled to provide an update. I rely on reviews, just like everyone else, when deciding what to purchase. I also appreciate it, when people give updates, as well. It's easy to be happy about something, right after you buy it, but when you're still happy, after months have gone by, that really means something. And yes, as stated in my earlier review, I did purchase a second one. I took it to my sister's house, installed it on her stereo, and she's also very happy with it. Hopefully, this review will help this product stand out, among the many other choices available. Let the music play!

Works Great! Price is Unbeatable
Frankly, I ordered this because it was so cheap. I got a Sony receiver and some Bose speakers at the dump, and everything worked, but I wanted to be able to stream music while working in the garage. This plugs into my Ryobi 6-battery charger's USB power port. The sound is clean, it couldn't be simpler to use. It came with a long micro-USB cable for power; a 3.5mm cable for Aux ports on some phones, etc.; and for my application, it included an RCA stereo cable. Plugged it in, held down the power button (there's just one, big button on the top), waited until the "pairing" light flashed. My Pixel 8 recognized it right away and paired. Seconds later, my free stereo was blasting out Bob Marley (much to the delight of my older, conservative neighbors). Wheeee!!!! I haven't tested the range, since I just lay my phone down next to the BT receiver when I'm working out in the garage. But the sound quality if great, especially considering the price.

Works well
I use this on a head unit that is in my shop. Connects quick and never any connection issues. Range is great as well.

Faulty
We plugged the Besign Bluetooth Music Receiver into the wall outlet and immediately lost all power to that circuit—it tripped the breaker instantly. This was not due to excessive power draw or an overloaded outlet, as nothing else was running on that circuit at the time. The issue was clearly with the unit itself. After the breaker was reset, the device no longer powered on or functioned at all, indicating an internal defect or failure. For safety reasons, we returned the product and ordered a similar device from a different brand instead.
