The edge I received has European Maps I expected US maps

I ordered this Garmin expecting it to provide cycling maps where I live, only to find that it has maps of Europe, not North America. Garmin customer support told me that this model was intended for use in Europe and I would have to pay an extra yearly fee to download maps of North America so I could use it here. I am returning it.

5 sterren voor deze fiets-GPS, die het maken van routes makkelijk maakt en aanpassingen tijdens het rijden kan doorvoeren. Tal van mogelijkheden om via smartphone en app te werken, maar daar is niet iedereen naar op zoek, vandaar onderstaande info: Deze gps werkt met routes in "FIT" bestandsformaat. 1/ Maak je eigen routes op je pc of laptop via bv GPX.studio en exporteer ze in GPX bestandsformaat naar een folder op je computer. 2/ Surf naar een "FIT route converter" (gratis online te vinden) en zet de GPX bestanden om naar FIT bestandsformaat. 3/ Verbind de GPS via USB-kabel met je computer, en open de folderstructuur van het apparaat (dat in de Windows verkenner verschijnt). 4/ Kopieer de FIT bestanden uit de folder op je computer naar de betreffende folder van de GPS 5/ Koppel de GPS los en start de GPS 6/ Onder het menu Koersen vind je de routes nu terug bij "Opgeslagen koersen" Geen gedoe dus met bluetooth koppelingen of smartphones die niet werken. Bereid je routes voor via bovenstaande stappen, laad ze op je GPS en rijden maar! Rij je verkeerd of sla je toch een andere weg in, geen nood, de GPS brengt je terug naar de route :-)

After having my edge 705 for 10 plus years the battery was not holding charge. Sadly this meant I had to try to find a replacement. The edge explore came after weeks of looking, thinking, looking some more and a load more thinking! I decided to go with it and the 5 payment option was a deal clincher! Straight out the box it had battery charge (around 75%) so it was ready to go. Easy to set up and put familiar screens together with data. Maps are good, syncing to apps easy and also linking to cadence & HRM a breeze. Overall very happy and would recommend if you like me, was in need of making a new purchase. Would suggest buying a case to go with it just to add some extra protection.
