I was scrambling to find a good cable to trade pokemon on my pokemon yellow and this works! You do need two for it to work, but it's well worth the price to relive the gold days of trading pokemon before the ds days!

It works but you have to get two of them!! I don’t know why but you have to get two and do a weird connecting with them. Still great though!

DO NOT BUY! It doesn't work. i tried it on two GameBoy Advance Sp and it doesn't read it. It also doesn't fit the GameBoy Advance Sp like it should, you have to force it quite a bit. The worst and my final point is that in the back of the package, it states that Nintendo doesn't have anything to do with the product. Save your money and move on.

This link cable works fantastically!!! Just note: In order for your gameboy pokemon trade to work, you would have to buy two (2) cables and cross connect them. This is not a cable defect but a Nintendo problem. The wide plug end is connected to the gameboy and the slim end connects into the square port. Once that is accomplished, your pokemon trading works perfectly and smoothly! Utilizing one (1) cable WILL NOT complete the connection for the pokemon Gen 1 (Pokemon Yellow, Red, and blue). Gen 2 (Pokemon Silver, Gold, and Crystal).

My brother and I re-acquired our old Game Boy Advance from a cousin, and since we already have two SPs and the Game Boy Player, we realized we could finally do multi-battles and link contests in our Pokémon games. So, we decided to buy another link cable. I'll admit that I was very skeptical about buying this cable. I had seen many of the one-star reviews, and I knew that as a third-party item, it was bound to be flawed. In the pictures, you may notice the third-party cable that I have linked to the Game Boy Player -- it has had some problems, so my brother and I were not willing to buy another third-party cable. But, since we already have the official cable, we didn't want to get the same item again, so we settled on this one. I will agree with many of the other reviews -- it can be finicky, and the connections are tight and hard to fit in/pull out. But, the cable does work. My brother and I will probably only use this for three/four player modes in Pokémon, since the official cable is (naturally) better. Having said that, the cable has worked well for us. My advice to prospective buyers is to be gentle. I cannot stress enough that as a third-party device, it is far from perfect. Don't yank the cable out from the consoles. Also, the box in the center (where you connect other link cables) has a port with straighter edges than an official cable, so be careful with that. I have included two pictures, one of which has a close-up of the cable. And yes, this is only good with Game Boy Advance games on GBA systems. That's the way all GBA link cables are. If you're looking for something to link two Game Boy Color games (or for the original Game Boy, or even a cable for the differently-shaped Game Boy Micro), you'll need to find something else.

This worked perfectly for me! I am able to trade Pokémon between my gba using the wider connection) and gba sp using the narrower connection. great product at a great price!

I was a little unsure about this product because of so many bad reviews, but it seemed to capture the spirit of the original cable better than most of the competitor's cables that I saw on Amazon. I bought it, it was delivered quickly, and it works perfectly with my two GBA SP's. Some users reported that it sticks in the port when you try to pull it out. I noticed that the two ends of the cable are different sizes, the bigger size stuck only in ONE of my GBA's, the smaller one didn't stick in either. There has been no problem with the cable, and overall I am 100% satisfied, I would totally buy again.

C'est décidément une perte de 10 euros... Il n'est pas compatible avec la gameboy advance sp, et est donc inutile pour cette console, en plus de la mauvaise qualité du câble...
