Great product and app
Overall love this glucometer set. I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes during my pregnancy and had to go through a crash course of diabetes solutions without full insurance coverage for all of the higher tech stuff which is usually contingent on diabetes type for most U.S. insurance plans. This set was easy to use and was compatible with the excellent mySugr app, which allowed me to track my readings for Dr.s visits. For a total newb like me who found the whole experience very overwhelming it was a great product to have. Some people mention that it will randomly stop importing readings. I found it to be completely reliable. The one or two times it did not import automatically is because I either needed to: make sure the mySugr app was open when I turned the glucometer on or to check to make sure the bluetooth settings on my phone were switched on. The only caveat I will add here is that the test strips are not included by all insurance brands and can be very pricey, so make sure to check your plan before purchasing.

CONTOUR NEXT ONE Blood Glucose Monitor — Accurate readings I can actually trust
Verdict: 5★ — this meter gives fast, consistent readings so I’m not second‑guessing the numbers when I’m checking sugar levels. I keep it in my bag and glovebox so it’s easy to test on the go, and the display is bright enough to read in the truck or in a dim room without squinting. Q&A: Accuracy — readings stay very close when I test back‑to‑back, and the strips don’t seem overly sensitive to tiny mistakes; Ease of use — strips slide in cleanly, small blood sample is enough, and the one‑button design makes it simple even when I’m tired; Comparison — more modern and easier to read than older style meters with tiny screens. Who this is for: Anyone who needs a reliable daily meter and wants clear numbers without a bunch of confusing menus.

Simple Glucose monitoring device
Easy to use and works well for those who don't have a continuous glucose monitoring device. The app is helpful and it was easy to sync the monitor to the app on my phone. Obtaining a sample is easy and it requires minimal sample.

Spot On Accuracy, A Few Unexpected Surprises
Overall, the CONTOUR NEXT ONE Blood Glucose Monitoring System All-in-One Kit is a very solid glucose meter, with a few quirks I wish I had known about ahead of time. First, something small but important: this device is powered by a CR2032 button battery. Personally, this isn’t my favorite setup. With how frequently I use my glucose monitor, I tend to go through batteries quicker, and button batteries don’t last as long as AAA batteries (which some other monitors use). It’s not a dealbreaker, but it’s definitely something to consider if you test often. Another surprise, right up there with the button battery, was the micro-USB port. It’s there for data transfer to a computer, which is great in theory, but it does not come with the cord. So that’s an extra you’ll need if you plan to use it. In terms of design, the meter is compact and slim. About 4 inches long and roughly 1 inch wide, and 38 grams with batteries in (pics). That makes it very portable, but I could see this being a downside for some users. If you have limited hand mobility or dexterity issues, the thinner design might make it a bit harder to grip and handle comfortably. Now for the big positive: accuracy. This meter is impressively consistent and reliable when it actually gives oyu a reading (see below about error code), which is obviously the most important factor when you’re managing blood glucose. No complaints there. I also really appreciate the feature that gives you up to 60 seconds to apply more blood if your initial sample isn’t enough. That’s a huge quality of life improvement compared to other meters where you’re stuck wasting a strip and starting over. That said, I frequently run into error code E20, and this is where things get frustrating. If the test strip is not inserted perfectly, and I mean fully shoved in and sometimes even double checked with a second push. The meter will throw this error. The problem is, there’s no warning that the strip isn’t properly seated before you apply blood. So what happens? You apply your sample… and then get hit with an error, meaning the strip is wasted and you have to start over. When this happens repeatedly, it’s not just annoying, it adds up quickly in both time and cost. To be fair, this could be a faulty unit, since it’s not something widely reported. Also this is my first contour next one, which I am getting replaced due to this often error. Overall, I’d still recommend this system for its: High accuracy User-friendly second-chance blood application Compact, travel-friendly size Just be aware of the battery type, unexpected micro-USB port (without included cable), slim grip design, and especially the strip insertion sensitivity. Small details that can make a noticeable difference in everyday use.

Works good after a year
I got this because though I do not have diabetes I have low blood sugar sometimes dropping into 50's if I fast for more than a day. I never had blood sugar problems until I did the keto diet and now its all out of whack. But the monitor works well and if your blood sugar is normal it will be green. It has an indicator to tell you if its too high or too low. Easy to use i think.
