Not as sturdy as my Klein. the plastic is hard and slippery. the cogs on the side help but the rubberized sides of the Klein 200 are much easier on the hands. I don't have standard lab equipment so I can't say if it is accurate. I do have 4 multi meters so I test them. All including this one measured the same aaa battery at 1.530 volts within the range of 1.528 to 1.531. So it is consistent with the others. All professional items. I like the hall effect current device and the voltage finder. Beeps slow for 5 v and fast for 120vac. Temp measurement is not that good. Mine reads about 6 degrees high. I thought it was the thermocouple but when I used the thermocouple in my recording DVM it read the correct temp. And I do have a lab standard thermometer to test that. As long as I know it reads high I can deal with it. The lowZ works great. Back to Simpson days. I only used the DC current and that was correct too. It was the first time I used a clamp on DC meter. To test this one I just used a 100 ohm resister and variable power supply. It always was within 3% of calculated at between 5v and 30. That covers my car which, is what I bought this for. Overall a good buy. Nice enough to give as a gift.

Great middle of the road meter
This meter is easy to use and easy to read. I'm pleased with the overall quality and engineering. The carrying case is very functional as well. If I had to purchase another meter I would look closer at getting one that was able to measure start up amps (motors, A/C units etc) but that's probably not an issue for most. I would definitely recommend to any one needing a meter to occasionally measure just about anything to do with electric circuits.

Pro level instrument you won't be embarrassed to use on the job.
The photo with the bluish ting was my attempt to capture its international orange color. You won't look like you went to the Dollar Store to pick up this meter, it's professional looking gear. This is a hall effect DC amp meter, so you'll want it for measuring from 1 amp up to 600, AC or DC. There is no milliamp function, you'll need a standard DVM for that. This is for looking at incoming amps into a building, or the starter motor current on a gas or diesel engine. Does, however, have functions for ohms, temp probe, frequency, diode test, and capacitance. This is great field meter, and is fairly compact. The included carrying case is about 8 x 4 x 3 inches. Also includes a thermocouple probe and shortish test leads. I've generally used Fluke DVM's in my communications work, and I use a good set of test leads from one of the Fluke meters with this one. The included ones are okay, just annoyingly short. I knocked off one star because of the short leads. It's also 0.02 volts off, but that's good enough for most field work, or troubleshooting automotive items. Uses two AAA alkaline batteries. EBL rechargeable batteries work fine, but it will perpetually show a low battery symbol.

Good product for cheap
Great for electrical testing. Use for testing amp draw when vehicle is shut off. Test for non contact low voltage dc. Also has temperature testing. Many other modes-ohms, diode testing and more.

nice unit. ac/dc
working the functions can be challenging. hidden function readouts. did read as low as 15 ohm, where other's would not read.

this meter is very dependable light weight and easy to read and versatile.
As an electrician it was important for me to have dependable meter with true RMS for accurate use, also it is a bargain price

Pretty good for the money
The product works just ok. The price is reasonable. The readings seem accurate but the auto ranging function doesn’t seem to work very well if at all. I have to manually select the scales for current all the time. The backlit function cannot be left on constant and by the time you get the meter situated it auto turns off. However , the biggest complaint is that the probe leads are just too short. You either need a third hand or you have to have a surface right next to you to set the meter on. This is a pain when trying to measure things like AC units that require you to carefully manipulate the probes because there are live circuits. You find you are moving the meter around with the short leads. Then you have to put a lead down to readjust the position so you can read it. While re-adjusting, the back lit light goes off and you can’t see the display.

Well Worth the Price
This is a well made product at a very reasonable price. I have been looking for an AC/DC clamp meter for some time and this one fills the bill. Feels very sturdy and has performed well so far.

Fairly accurate

Bought to find a draw on battery in car. Clamp amp teat made it quick and easy to identify the fault as being a bad alternator. Great price for a quality piece of kit.

received this item in good time, however very disappointing thereafter. 1) The hold/NCV button on the side does not work, so 2 features are unavailable from the get-go (feels like a mechanical/quality issue with the button inside the case) 2) The calibration of DC Amps is out by nearly 1A out of the box (minus 0.80-0.90 Amps to be precise), so any reading on the 60A scale for e.g. automotive gives completely inaccurate readings. You can work around this by using the Zero feature, however you must remember to do this every time & it does not save/re-calibrate. Since you must not have the core round a conductor when zeroing, this means you need to remove the clamp to re-zero it each time if you are switching between features in a tight space, which is tedious. I must now waste my time visiting a post office/evri to return it, so I should have just purchased a name brand to begin with. In conclusion, the high number of amazon reviews are misleading at best.
