Is the 12 oz scoop a good size for a countertop ice maker

I use my stainless steel scoop in an ice-maker inside the freezer. If the 10" x 3.5" scoop would fit into a countertop ice-maker it should work well.

I assume stainless steel is safe for hot lunch like mac&cheese? I want to use this scoop to transfer hot lunch from a bowl into a Themos food jar.

Stainless steel thermos's are safe for hot food, I wouldn't see why the scoop wouldn't be. I use it for ice and found that if the opening of the container is smaller than the tip of the scoop the ice falls out on the sides and makes a mess, but it's only ice. Mac and cheese might be messy. The tip of the scoop is about 2 inches, so if the opening on the thermos is bigger than that I think it would be fine. I love my scoop!
