This is an EXCELLENT trap! I have capture three squirrels in the attic so far! They got trapped after I closed off some holes around the eaves. I think you'll need some basic mechanical skills to understand how it works, calm hands to set it, as it has a hair trigger, which is exactly what you want. I cut off the bottom of a Dixie cup, put some Pistachios in it, placed it near the trigger plate. Didnt take long! Took a couple of days to catch the 3 so far. I tacked a security cam in that space to easily monitor the situation. But extremely pleased with the results. Excellent product!

Great trap. But if you catch one chipmunk and release it somewhere else. A new one is gonna take its territory.

Easy to set up but after I captured the red squirrel I had difficulty opening the door to let him out to his new playground. Same thing with the rabbit and fat little chipmunk. But the overall reason I got it was not to kill but capture and release and it does the job for the money. There is more expensive ones that are easier to open and release but with the rising cost of things I just use heavy duty gloves and the job is done. Rabbits catch onto this cage quickly so I left it in the same place for days then added some apples and it brought me the king of rabbits-- the kids and cousins followed after and I only have about 7 more to catch to be rabbit free. The rabbits ravaged my garden this year and are fatter than I have ever seen before.

I have other live traps Have A Heart they are good also, but what I like better with this trap is the trigger. I have not used it yet but I like it so far

The listing for this product not only pictures mice but less mice is something you can catch with it. When I asked the AI assistant if it would catch small house mice the AI assistant reported yes this product would be perfect for my purposes. yet this trap does not contain house mice: the trap has been triggered and is closed the bait has been eaten and is gone there is no mouse in the trap and my cupboard floor is littered with mouse poop. A fair conclusion is that the wire mash of this trap is too large and mice are able to squeeze out. Total waste of money and too late to return. Very frustrating. I recommend a trap with finer mash a trap that is more versatile so even if the impetus is buying it to catch something like a squirrel or a rat if you can find a trap with smaller mash and end up having house mice down the road you can use the same trap.

Very good trap, built solid but most importantly it works!

I bought this for the low profile size to fit in a small area that had problematic squirrel activity and it met that purpose well. One problem I encountered were that the doors rubbed against the top of the trap frame, which required filing the edges down to ensure that it could be triggered. Another issue is that the latch that closes after the trap is triggered seems flimsy and could be bumped open if the animal pushed against the door rapidly. Once triggered, the trap also has to stay level or there is potential for the latch to come loose and let the animal out.
