Amazon Basics Heavy Duty 3-in-1 Staple Gun with 600 Staples (D, U & T Type), Adjustable Power, Durable Steel Body – Ideal for Upholstery, Carpentry, DIY Home Repairs, and Furniture Restoration

I bought this firstly to reupholster a very old footstool in need of a new cover. I chose this one based on good reviews, the Amazon brand name, and its reasonable price. It arrived in a sturdy cardboard box with a polystyrene inlay, shaped to hold the staple gun and box of staples, which I’ll keep to use as a handy storage case. Included is a very helpful, easy to read, and concise instruction booklet. The staple gun feels weighty, strong and fits comfortably in the hand. Turning the wheel at the top clockwise adjusts the force for tougher jobs, resulting in the staples firing into the material more powerfully. In the video above, the wood I put two staples into is very hard and solid, and as you can see they went in fully, quite easily. Turning the wheel anticlockwise delivers less force, so would be more suitable for delicate jobs. The handle is relatively easy to press if you are pushing it downwards onto a solid surface. Of course, as with any staple gun, using at arm's length reaching high up a wall could be more tricky. The three types of staples included are handy for various uses. The standard square-shaped are strong and work well. The U-shaped set are ideal for securing thin cables, and I have used these a few times already with good results. The “nails” are effectively panel pins, and differ in that they can be used two at a time (see photo above). They’re fired into the material 10 mm apart, so the same separation as the pins of each standard staple. You get what you pay for. Only needed to staple a shower curtain to my fence outside. Worked well. Plenty staples included. The arched staples aren’t the best but still work ok. The square shaped staples are good though. It comes with small nails which I haven’t used yet. Ok piece of kit for the price

Not as much power as previous stapler

Works well, used it to put new rope on cat tree. Simple to use

Absolutely not fit for purpose 1 out of every 10 took , kept falling apart ! Tried every setting. I’m up a ladder trying to staple a waterproof covering for a shed I ended up throwing it in frustration and it burst out l couldn’t be bothered to return it. It went in the bin

Exactly as described

Started fine on the 6mm staples it came with, tried on 10mm in same size - 140 - into batten and about 10% went in, the rest twisted up despite checking everything else was correct. Ideal for lightweight jobs with little staples but useless for quick repairs to chickenwire fencing or anything else outdoors!

I went for the cheapest staple gun, expecting it to be flimsy but hoping it would get through the one job I needed it for. I was pleasantly surprised! This staple gun is solid and nicely heavy in your hand. It comes with a set of different shapes of staples and I used all 200 of the normal "goalpost" staples without any issues. These were going into strong plywood to cover a chair and it didn't miss a beat. I'd definitely recommend this and don't think you need to spend more money to get a decent staple gun!
