This is an update on a prior review. I recently received the third Amethyst geode that I have purchased from Extreme Rocks and Fossils. My experience with this seller throughout the process of buying all three of these specimens has been universally excellent. The quality of the geodes is superior. The color depth and quality of the crystals excellent. All three geodes are things of beauty. All three of the eight pound size with smooth ground edges that I purchased are impressive to view. Just as important is the very quick response by this seller to any type of question I had about geode dimensions, visual characteristics, and shipping alternatives. Small, I was disappointed, color was pale as well.

This product shipped in great condition, packaged well, and even came earlier than expected. Even the rose quartz that comes with the purchase are beautiful. But talking about the amethyst, it's kinda of a let down because I opted on upgrading to the 1.5-2lb amethyst. Thinking I would get more amethyst but I just got more raw rock than anything.

Bought a super great amethyst geode, it was very very beautiful and 100% worth the money I spent I would defiantly recommend buying.

Kann ich zu dem Preis empfehlen. Unser Stein kommt ziemlich nah an das gemachte Foto in der Verkaufsbeschreibung heran und sieht super aus. Für den Preis auch absolut in einer gerechtfertigten Größe. Habe selten Steine in dieser Größe und Qualität für diesen Preis gesehen. Die Ware war oderentlich verpackt und wurde pünktlich geliefert.

You basically get what's described. The Amethyst cluster looks great ... and it has that dark purple colour that Uruguayan amethysts are supposedly famous for. It's a beautiful amethyst cluster and everyone who sees it loves it. HOWEVER ... truth is that its a "sort of" manufactured product. You're not getting an individual geode that's been broken open. Instead, you're getting a small portion of a larger geode that's been broken into palm or hand-sized portions ... then stuck onto a concrete backing. The edges have been polished a little and it's well done and looks semi-natural. But it's very clear that the back portion is manufactured. I guess that the major benefit is better consistency and that buyers get a better chunk of amethyst - which is the bit that really counts. The problem is that making customers choose the size by weight is a little disingenuous when maybe 80% of that "weight" is the concrete backing. Maybe determining the various size options could be done by height (giving a size range as they won't be exact) ... but it might be a clearer way of doing things. Other than that gripe, I'm pretty happy with the cluster overall.

✨My Amethyst Geodes✨ The ordering page's description pictures were of course highly different than these but I'm very happy with these colors and sizes. These are from "Uruguay" and hold deep purple colors and good for meditation and spiritual properties. 😊 💜The first Amethyst 1) It is deep colored, almost so deep that when I opened the package I almost saw that color as black, took my eyes a while to adjust to this color and then I saw this is deep purple, is petite in weight, 1/2 lbs, darker, richer and vibrant in color. 💜Onto the Second Amethyst 2) It is heavier, must be approx 1.5 lbs, but lighter in colors, more whites can be observed, and the polishing shines it's white borders nicely. Very happy with these. 💜
