Great little clock! (Updated 2020)
Updated Review (2020): 7 years later and this clock is still going strong. It has survived numerous moves, drops, and always resides in a humid shower area, but not much phases it. I feel like I've only changed the batteries once or twice. Unlike every other clock it's always accurate. Once in a great while (maybe once a year) the suction fails and it crashes to the floor. But that's rare. Recently happened while I was in the shower and it hit the ground hard + went under the water stream. The screen went weird and I thought it finally bit the dust but it magically came back to life a few hours later and all I had to do was reset the time zone. It's probably the single most reliable electronic item I've ever owned. Original Review (2013): Love it! Got it for my shower so I can keep track of time since I take long showers. Doesn't cloud up and it never gets wet when placed high on the back wall. The time never needs to be adjusted once set.

Suction Cup Issues
Judging by the other positive reviews, this clock's suction cup has done well in the showers of others. Sadly, it did not do so in mine, and since this clock needs suction in order to function, I feel this product deserves the lowest rating possible. So as not to seem overly biased against this clock since it fell from a height of 1 meter within ten minutes of attachment, I will say the following nice things about it: 1.) The atomic sync feature appeared to work as advertised, "overnight". Fine effort there. 2.) Displays all the information a clock should: time, date, day of week. No fault there. Now, to unleash the sour crank within for having this clock fall TWICE in the span of a day, the not-so-nice things: 1.) The inadequate suction cup. I feel the engineers who designed this knew they had botched the cup size issue, as a special, separate add-on to the instructions explains in EXCRUCIATING detail how the tile/mirror should be very, very clean, etc. before attempting to mount the clock. I scrubbed and dried my tile: such work was already bordering on silly considering how many suction cups I've seen in action before succeed in worse conditions. Sadly, I think they made the cup too small for the considerably chunky clock: it's gonna fall, not if but when. 2.) No backlight. My shower has opaque curtains and no interior light. Hence, it's not that bright. This clock will not help remedy that issue if you have a similar setup. 3.) Operations written by a madman. I've noticed over the years that clocks tend towards the "ridiculously hard" side of "ease of programming household items" scale, somewhere near the legendary VCRs of yesteryear. Without reading the instructions, I would not have been able to so much as change the time on this calamitous clock. Thank goodness I can read! 4.) Waterproofing? I was rather surprised to see the battery compartment (which is secured by three tiny, easy-to-lose screws - better have your jeweler's kit handy to install the batteries!) had no rubber/vinyl on the compartment seal. The seal seems tight, but the lack of a waterproof seal was shocking...no pun intended, really. I shouldn't complain, though, as nowhere in the instructions is the word "waterproof" or "water-resistant" ever mentioned. 5.) The smell, the smell. This clock is made of some very cheap, very toxic-y smelling plastic. Maybe you're a fan of the odor - I am not. So there you have it. If you think you can wrangle the too-small suction cup and feel all cool inside for paying $20 for a clock with no backlight, then may the power of atomic clocks everywhere guide your way.

Suction Cup works FINE
Those that are complaining about the suction cup are just using it wrong. You cannot just stick it fully assembled as it arrives, this will not allow the air under the suction cup to escape. You need to unscrew the suction cup, you will be left with 3 pieces: the main unit, the suction cup, and a hard plastic "dome" piece. You must attach the suction cup to the surface first and alone, pressing it down firmly. Then put the plastic dome on, the outside edges of the dome will press on the outside of the suction cup preventing air from getting in. Then screw the main unit on. If you do it the proper way, the cup will hold forever, and probably even hold several pounds (but of course do that at your own risk!). Anyhow, on to the rest of the review. It works and looks great. It sync'd time within about 5 minutes of installing the battery (I'm in Canada). The numbers are large enough to read accross a small room like a bathroom. I don't need to use the buttons on the back at all, but they are hard to see without removing the main unit. I guess if you remembered which button you need (by counting across from one side) you could reach around and use them. I also don't get too much water on it, it's mounted high enough that it barely gets a few drops on it. But it seems to handle that and the steam just fine. This is a great clock and I'm happy with my purchase!

Poor design all around, nice clock, but not practical for a suction cupped radio controlled clock.
The clock itself is great, but the suction cup is a pain in the butt to get to work, and if it falls, or if you drop it, the screen is easily cracked (that happened the first time I tried to mount it to a mirror and it only dropped a foot). This morning mine fell off the counter (it was just sitting there because the suction cup is too much bother and I haven't had a chance to set it up since my last move) and lost all display on the front and started buzzing like an alarm clock full of bees. The dog really wasn't happy and I wasn't excited, either, as I was late for work. The only way to get the sound to stop was to remove the suction cup and plastic piece, unscrew the screws on the battery compartment and pull out the battery. This is really annoying when you're standing naked and wet in the bathroom trying to find a screwdriver that will fit the small size of the 3 screws to get it to stop. As for the suction cup not working well, 2 of these reviews are correct: First and foremost, it's really, really poorly designed as far as the suction cup goes. Second, yes, if you take it apart into 3 pieces and clean the surface really well and add on each piece as you go, it will stick, but personally, to go to all that trouble and then to have to do it again when you want to move it defeats the purpose of the suction cup. The suction cup should allow you to take it and stick it to a relatively clean, smooth surface whenever you want, including to a hotel while traveling (which is why that radio control is so nice). You shouldn't have to set time aside to move it or fix it to a hotel mirror, which is what I've had to do, then only to have it break as soon as it drops because you didn't get it quite right. Poor design all around. If it's a suction cup, chances are it's going to fall more than once (even if it's a good one) while you're just trying to install it. It should be able to survive a short fall of about 3 feet. I have 3 radio controlled alarm clocks in the house that have been through much, much worse that continue to work without issue. Oh and by the way, the batteries are a LOT easier to get out of those, not that they have ever sounded like an alarm clock full of bees that irritates your dog. Unfortunately, this is the ONLY bathroom/tub/shower radio controlled clock I have come across. The question now is, do I get another of these that is fine as long as it stays propped up on a counter? Or do I go with one that doesn't automatically keep the correct time? Maybe the answer is that you get a radio controlled alarm clock and Macgyver yourself a suction cup to attach to it. Or if you're not going to move it, just glue it to your shower or tub or mirror, but if you're going to do that, you could probably get something that comes in different colors and styles anyway. To the makers of this clock: You've got a good start, but you really need to work on it to make it practical for the normal user. If you expect them to take all this time to just hang it in the bathroom and never move it, the only thing the radio control will provide is the change twice a year for Daylight Savings time in those places that follow Daylight Savings time.

Good clock, one annoying bug
I have used this product for almost a year (I received it Christmas 2013), and I'm pretty happy with it. The suction is still going strong (it has NEVER fallen), which is pretty impressive considering nothing else I've used in the shower has been able to maintain its strength for this long. I've gone through suction cup caddies, gimmicky 5 minute timers, etc. - all of which have lost their suction and fallen off within a few months. I was pretty shocked when I came on here and saw dozens of people complaining about the suction... I think a major key is placement. Mine lies to the right side underneath of the actual shower head, where it barely gets wet minus a few sprinkles and backsplash here and there. The same can be said about the battery life. I haven't changed the batteries since initial installation, so I'm very happy with that as well. The clock itself offers good functionality. Minutes, seconds, date, day, etc. Standard clock. However, my number one issue is with the device's advertised "radio sync" feature. As of this time, Daylight Savings ended over a month ago. Every single day I've taken a shower I hit the "Sync" button and it never updates. It gets quite annoying; I had this issue when Daylight Savings started as well, and it took months for the sync to actually kick in and update. Overall, that's an annoying problem, but I still love this product. It keeps me on time in the mornings and is very useful.

Orded Two, Only One Works
Title should be self-explanatory. I ordered two of these clocks, one of them worked like magic —which I did hope and expect from a self-setting clock as any other self-setting clock should be able to— but not the other one. The awkwardness of its defective function was that it worked for a day, and that was it. I did not have the packaging by the time when I finally realized even the display was slowly fading. Tried changing the batteries, up to avail. Then I also realized this defective clock is not picking up the signal. Couple of hours later, it simply couldn't, and whole bottom section of the clock is completely faded. I could not read the date nor the day. For the record, the other clock is working just fine in the bathroom, picked up the signal the moment I plugged in the battery. Other (different brand) atomic clocks in other rooms have picked up signals in a few seconds. I would sincerely doubt this has anything to do with environmental factors. If my return is not accepted due to missing an original box, I can only say that I had wasted my money on a clock that had worked for 24 hours. I don't expect them to ship it back to me, simply discard it instead. I'm not sure how long the other clock will work, considering the malfunction of the unit I am returning right now. ——As to the general quality of the clock This clock is quite literally focused on self-setting feature. It takes up few minutes to set the clock manually. Not only it's digital, I assume the company had no consideration of an occasion when one has to manually set the clock. Considering your unit is receiving the signals without any malfunctions, this is going be an amazing bathroom clock. If not, I would sincerely suggest getting an old-fashioned water-proof analogue clock. I must also add the fact that you will need a screwdriver to open the battery compartment. My watch is completely water-proof —meaning, I can take it to the pool— but it doesn't take a screwdriver to open a battery compartment. It still could have been better, tool-free, to change a battery. It is an atomic clock, it will consume the battery comparatively more than general clocks. I don't want to end up switching the batteries every couple of months with a screwdriver in my hand. Some of the reviews pointed out the suction pad is not working. In my case, both of the units had proper pads; I simply had to read and study how to use a huge suction pad from the manual. It is not as obvious as it looks, which I do hope it was. I would suggest reading the manual before putting the suction pads in place.

Great Time Keeper! Has Stayed in Place
Have this clock up and running in my daily used shower and it works great! I live in a condo and it is often difficult to get a WWV (the "time setting" radio signal out of Boulder CO) in my place. But, this radio is in an inner room with no line of sight to a window and it grabbed the signal in a few minutes and has never lost it. In terms of time finding and keeping, it has worked excellent for me. It's located on the wall opposite of the shower nozzle and has been very durable so far. It's had no operational problems. ATTACHMENT TO THE TILE. Mounted on ceramic tile, it has held solid for me. (Recommended this to another owner who was having some problems getting the clock to mount. For what it's worth, here's what I did, which has worked for me.) Line up where to place the clock (noting where the suction cup's tab is positioned for when the clock is screwed off and on again.). Unscrew the suction cup (easy and designed for that purpose.) As recommended, clean the tile. THEN, clean the area of tile again by wiping it with RUBBING ALCOHOL. (I also did the same to the rubber suction cup.) After both tile and suction cup dry, thoroughly wet the "donut" of the suction cup that will form the seal with tap water. Press the suction cup onto place. Once secure, screw the clock back onto the suction cup base. (FYI-if needed, pulling on the tab on the suction cup base will "pop" the seal and the base (and clock, if attached) will come free. For me, this clock has run, accurately on-time (still receiving the WWV signal), and stayed in place for the duration.

Really needs improvement, but I'm still using it...
I bought two of these as they are the least expensive shower clock with atomic sync that I could find. They really need to improve the design. First, the good: 1. it's a shower clock with a large, easily readable LCD display. 2. It supposedly syncs with the atomic clocks over the radio (see below) Now the bad: 1. The suction cup screws on the back and makes it annoying to attach and detach. 2. That screw is made of cheap plastic and snapped off the first time I tried it with one of my two clocks (other one is fine, so far, but I don't trust it) 3. If you don't want to use the suction cup (or it breaks off), there is no flat edge on the bottom side of the clock and therefore no other way to stand it so that you could see it without jury-rigging a stand. 4. The buttons are on the back so have trouble accessing them if you've got the clock screwed on the suction cup. 5. The radio sync feature works very inconsistently, and it doesn't seem to automatically retry unless I hit the button to make it. I'm on the east coast, so I might just be too far from the transmitters (which are in Colorado, if I'm not mistaken. One of mine synced the first time I tried it and kept synced for a week, but it lost sync later. The other only synced once, but lost it the next day. With both clocks, I tried the syncing in the middle of the night, as documented, to improve radio reception. 6. The instructions are hard-to-understand because of the broken english translation. All of that said, it's a cheap shower radio, so if you're willing to set it once and just read it, it probably would work fine. I'm still using them, but that's just because it's just more trouble than it's worth to return them. I would not recommend these to a friend.

Solid, accurate and reliable
I have had this clock for 4 years, changed the battery twice. Really is great value for money. So much so, I am going to buy another for the bedroom. The fact that the battery lasts so long is a big plus

I received this radio, the box was open and the back was scratched. The plastic screw looked like it has been damaged. It works but thinking of returning
