Good value looks well solid bell

The part that actually holds the bell is slightly twisted. When the wall bracket is horizontal, the bell bracket is not...quite. The pin that connects the bell to the bell bracket is bent. The ring that holds the rope handle to the clapper is a shonky little key-ring. You can actually see this if you zoom in on the product image, although I didn't notice it at the time I ordered. The quality of the clapper is poor. It was not well cast or was not polished. Again you can see this if you zoom in on the product image. The bell noise is not the clear vibrant sound that you might expect, which suggests that either the bell is not quite hanging free, or the metal has a poor internal structure. I believe it is the latter which is caused by the way the metal is heat treated, or possibly by the exact alloy used. Or both. Let's be honest. This is not a top quality bell, but you are not paying top dollar for it, so fair enough. It does the job. Maybe one day I'll buy a proper one, but for now the kids come running when it is rung, so I'm happy enough.
