These are better than the small entryway traps. He larger rats don’t go in the small entryway traps!! These work better

I screwed the trap to the end of a board so it could be eased into nooks and crannies. That also made it more stable and easier to set by foot pressure on the squeeze- tabs. The trigger automatically drops into place when the jaws are opened. The trigger holds pretty well while placing the trap, and the wide plate trips it easily (and effectively).

Had a bad Norway rat infestation, and paired with a poison bait station and placed in high traffic areas, the infestation was gone within a month and a half. I tried regular snap traps, large snap traps, and sticky traps nailed to the floor. The rats got out of all of them, except for these. You can bait them if you’d like, or, you can place them near their burrows and at choke points in the house. Sometimes these traps kill on contact, other times they can hold the rat until you can incapacitate the rodent. Tip: Make sure you tie them down, or there’s a chance the rat will run away with your trap (I learned this the hard way.) I love these traps, I will always give them 5 stars. (Here’s one of them, it’s killed/caught four massive Norway rats so far.)

Forget the other lookalikes on Amazon—they are useless. Tomcats are 100% lethal. Whenever rats show up, I put these out and they are all full after one night. Reload the next day, check them the next day, rinse and repeat. When they are no longer catching rats, you're out of rats.

the rats didn't know what was coming for them. I have become a very successful rat catcher! After I catch them, I lay them on an exposec concrete ledge and the birds are very grateful- no poison!

I had used the smaller version of these in my kitchen for mice and they worked well. Wegot rats in the yard so I ordered these. Set out 2 with peanut butter and potato chips mixed in the bat cup. In less than 2 hours, I had gotten 2 rats. The issue is the removable bait cup. While that is nice feature, one of the rats took a few minutes to expire and flopped around, resulting in the loss of the bait cup. I'll try to smear some peanut butter on the set tray so I can re-use that one, but I was hoping to get more than one rat with one fill of the bait cup, like on the little mouse version. And I like that they are made in the USA. Easy to use, could be a bit bigger. The neighbor has bird feeders and these rats are BIG. Easy to hose off if they get icky. Decent value since they are reusable and made in the USA. Shame about the bait cup though.

As others have said - did not produce a fatal snap. First night one rat had its foot stuck and one giant rat got its snout stuck and was crying. Had to drown them.
