Good Information; but book I received had no page numbers on pages; appeared to print-on-demand. Put text was very helpful.

Don't waste your time and money
Contains factual errors, for example initially correctly lists the longest standard container as 53 feet, but later the longest available are only 48 feet. Talks about Corten steel but fails to explain what Corten steel is, why it is used in shipping containers and why you want it. Suggests putting a sod roof on your house.. If your steel box is not rusting fast enough for you, try piling wet dirt on it. How much does wet dirt weigh and what is the load capacity of a shipping container roof? Needs to have page numbers. My overall impression is that the author has never actually seen a shipping container home and maybe never a shipping container. Buying and reading this is a waste of time and money. I feel like I know less about shipping container homes than I did before I read the book.

With the description on the cover I would have expected at least a blueprint or plan or two and possibly one or two pictures. It reads a bit like a high school essay. With that said there are a few tips in this books worth knowing.

Visited a friend's house over the weekend and saw that she lives in a shipping container with her 2 cats. I got so jealous on how she revamped the whole thing! I got curious on how to redecorate a shipping container into a living space and I am surprised that there are so many ways to do it.

This book will has helped me to better understand how my family and I can afford a perfect little dream how by purchasing a container and working to make it our dream home at our own budget. Some really great details in this guide!

A quick read with alot of information to consider.
Well written, this book covers all the aspects of your selection of containers, location challenges, safety during construction and many other details that must be considered. As someone who is interested in the process of building this information was very helpful.

A really bad book that does container homes a disservice.
I have a building background and was expecting something in depth with real ideas and real life plans. What I go t was a book about how cool it is to be counter culture and live in a container. I also learned about pretty colors and cat designs (I kid you not). It was written from the perspective of a young girl who knows nothing about building or construction. Not worth the time to read it; not worth the money to buy it.

Blueprint? Really?
The "knowledge" provided is so obvious that every logically thinking person would take this as given when planning to build a container. Constand repetition of the same aspects fill more pages, but are definitely not helping the reader. Logical structure of the information provided is missing as well. Don't waste your time and your money!
