This purifier is amazing! Allergies, be gone!
This is now our 2nd Blue air purifier. I originally bought the smaller Blue 411+ for our bedroom and I was very impressed with how having that in our bedroom improved my lifelong allergies that I take a daily pill for. Prior to getting the smaller 411+ I would very often wake up with a stuffed nose. Yes, we do have 2 dogs but they are not allowed in the bedroom due to my allergies. I honestly didn't have high hopes for the smaller unit but after a couple days of it purifying the bedroom air, I noticed a huge difference. I began waking up with clear sinuses and the room smelled "different". Not a bad smell but maybe just NO smell? Anyhow, after giving the little Blue a good 30 days to prove itself, I knew I needed a larger one for our living room. This is also where our dogs (golden retriever and black lab) spend most of their time with us when they are inside. And having these 2 dogs and allergies doesn't make life super easy as cleaning goes. I have to vacuum daily or every other day (minimum) and will at times pull up what looks like a small dog inside my vacuum canister. Especially, when my golden is blowing her coat. Finally after comparing, I went ahead and ordered the Blue 311 Auto for our living room which is approximately 420sf. I also bought a separate filter cover that's shown in my pictures and an additional filter to have on hand. The unit arrived well packaged and without damage. It came with a main filter installed and a a light gray filter cover but tbh, I will use the light gray cover while cleaning and drying the dark gray cover I have on it now. I as I prefer the dark (name is actually Winter Reed) over the lighter gray. I also like the quality of the upgraded cover. It's a bit thicker and looks nice. The set up was simple. It's really just plug it in and go. I like that this unit has 4 mode settings and indicator lights to show air quality and when the filter needs replaced. I have noticed one time when out of nowhere the air quality sensor light briefly turned from blue to orange then back to blue. The light sensor color indicators and level info are Blue (good), Orange (moderate), and Red (polluted). The main filter change sensor is supposed to switch on after 6 months of use but I haven't had it long enough to confirm if that works yet. For maintenance, I do run my vacuum brush over the outer filter cover once a week to clean any dust off of it which, there always is. This was also an immediate indicator to me that this fella is doing its job! I will also run a damp cloth on the the plastic exterior at the same time just to keep it clean and in the best working condition. Noise Level: This 311 Auto unit has 4 modes. โAuto Mode: (fan speed will change depending on the air quality it senses). โNight Mode: (whisper quiet, low speed) โEveryday Mode: (medium speed) โBoost Mode: (fastest speed and very loud). Boost mode is like, wind tunnel loud! Way too loud for us to watch TV in the same room if it was on. But this mode is not for everyday use. The only time I've used boost mode is when there is a specific reason i.e.,dogs came in from rain or I may have cooked/baked something that has a lingering smell, etc. I would just turn it on boost for 10 minutes or so to dissipate whatever the odor issue may be. We typically have it set on auto mode or everyday mode and it's very, very quiet. I would say auto mode is more quiet or no louder than an average fan that's on it's lowest speed and everyday mode is maybe as loud as a fan on medium setting. โช๏ธPlease see video I took of the different modes to show the sound difference between all four settingsโช๏ธ I have now had this particular unit running 24/7 for about 2 months and we love it! We live in Washington State so when it rains and our fur babies go out for break, any "wet dog" smell is gone in minutes if I kick in the boost mode but everyday mode will also take care of that within an hour or so. Sadly, I also know fire season will soon be upon us for summer and I have no doubt both units will do a fantastic job at keeping the quality of air inside our home filtered, clean and smelling fresh during the seasonal bad air quality. We will be tackling a full home remodel next year which we'll be adding central heating and air but even then, I plan on keeping both these units up and running! Would I recommend this Blueair 311 Auto? Absolutely 100%. Summary: All in all, if you suffer from allergies/asthma like me, have animals, or simply a home without filtered air and are teetering on whether or not to purchase, go for it! You won't regret it! Personally, these air purifiers have honestly changed my life! I wish I would've found this company sooner! I HIGHLY recommend! If I must find something negative, I guess I would have to say their OEM filter replacements are pricey but this was not a deterrent for me. They also offer an auto ship filter service for a discount. I give this an easy 5 star! (I was NOT paid for this review and was not asked to leave one. I have no affiliation with this company other than being a new-ish forever customer)! Hopefully this will help someone!

Quiet and Efficient
This air purifier is quiet and efficient. It runs throughout the day mostly silent, cleans our air well, and has a beautiful design. I am impressed by how quiet this air purifier is! I've had many air purifiers over the years and most of them were loud, either with fans or electrical humming. The blueair purifier runs all day completely silent. This is one of the top reasons I wanted it. The only time it becomes louder is if it detects more pollutants in the air, which kicks the fan up higher. Even at it's highest setting it's not loud. I would say it's less quiet than a box fan. I LOVE how quiet it is. I have sensitive lungs and I suffer when the air isn't clean. The pollen in the air has been brutal, so I wanted an air purifier that could work in addition to the other ones in our home. We have a little town home and I use this one in our living room. I have placed it at the corner of the living room by the dining room and kitchen. I accidentally burnt a meal while cooking and the air purifier automatically kicked up to the highest level until the air was clean. That alone is impressive. Recently, all of our windows were open and the air purifier fan kicked up to it's medium level fan, then it's high level. My kids and I were wondering if the fan had malfunctioned, none of us had done anything to cause it to react. I went to the window and realized that it was hazy and smoky outside. We immediately shut all of the windows. The air purifier stayed on until the air in our house was clean again. Then it went back into low-level, silent mode. I absolutely LOVE the auto-detect feature. It's small enough to be out of the way, but big enough to do it's job. I love the beautiful design. It's about the height of a box fan. I love that it's round and tall. We have the original prefilter that it came with but I'd like to purchase more. I'm excited to try out another color, but I also really love the grey. The only downside is the prefilter. As much as I love it, our cat loves it more. She loves to launch herself full speed across the room and do a running leap at the air filer, grab at it with her claws and fling herself around it like it's a toy just for her. She ferociously rips and pulls at it like it's a beautiful scratching post. We've tried putting new scratching pads and all around it to deter her, but she loves the blueair more. I have removed the prefilter in hopes of detering her, so that she'll leave it alone. She has lost all interest in it with the prefilter removed. I'm bummed because I love the look of it WITH the filter on. It is so hard to take the filter off and put it back on. I kind of wish it was able to simply velcro on instead of having to slide it on. It reminds me of trying on prepregnancy pants after I had my kids. So difficult to shimmy into! Despite this one problem, I love this air purifier and will definitely be purchasing another in the future for our downstairs bedroom!

Best air cleaner I have ever used.
Bought it over 5 years ago. Still whisper quiet and cleans air like on day 1. I use 3rd party filters and they work great. I have another older system with a rectangular filter and it doesnโt clean near as well. Plus itโs noisy. If I ever need another one, it will be this brand.

It did help with some of my allergy issues; nice white noise sound
We've had this for a few years (4?) now and it seems to work well. It didn't totally eliminate my allergies (I didn't expect it to) but seems to make a noticeable difference. We like that it also acts as a white noise machine too for when we sleep. It definitely collects dust and pollen because when we change out the filter, it's pretty filthy. You know, I'm not sure if it's worth the price, and there're probably more budget friendly ones but I'm impressed that it's lasted as long as it has. It'll blink different colors when you need to replace the filter, which isn't that often, maybe 2x a year? Highlights - Purifies the air and colleges dust, pollen, etc. - Provides white noise - 3 different settings - customizable cloth to match your room Overall, it was a fair purchase for us and we're still using it. It is on the pricey end but for us it's had multiple functions so we're happy with it

Broke within 3 mos.
Used this product for a little less than 3 months and it just quit. Fan stopped working. Unit is in pristine condition, looks like new, but it no longer works. Contacted manufacturer, no response. Blueair's website said to contact the "dealer" (in this case, Amazon) for warranty issues. Currently working on that. Tried to register my product on Blueair's website, it would not accept a registration. Don't think I'll ever buy from this company again. Product worked fine while it lasted, but wouldn't recommend. UPDATE: Blue Air did replace my unit free of charge in the end, and the process was cordial and helpful. I believe the pandemic played into response times, but all in all my replacement unit is working fine and has been for several months. Just want to give credit where credit is due. :)

very happy with this selection, performs well
Have a small 45 year old 1200 ft cabin in the woods and shopped for air purifier that would work with seasonal pollen, cat hair/dander from two cats( and litter pan odor), woodstove smoke/ash, occasional kitchen cooking pollution. Lots of claims out there in wide range of prices...this one,far from cheapest, or priciest, seemed to offer quality needed to address enviromental indoor air polution. Liked 2 phased filtration, charcoal for odors, and that filters lasted 6 mo rather than 1. Located in sleeping area, quiet operation a plus. Have had unit for 6 months now, and just replaced filter, which was autoshipped from mfg,as i did not trust the cheaper knockoffs that would fit,but questioned getting same results. Set filter replacement auto ship, was favorably impressed to speak with rep in understandable english without waiting on perpetual hold, and registered warranty at that time. First time i fried bacon, smoke carried into living area and demonstrated the sensor/detector in action, works as advertised. This unit has meaningfully enhanced indoor air quality in times of ever increasing pollution, providing better quality of life/living... highly recommend.

This little guy gets the job done.
I bought 2 of these because I wanted one in the bedroom and one in the living room. Living Room - I have noticed a dramatic decline in Dust in the room. Everytime we Dust, it would take about 2-3 days to have a coating of Dust again on tables, end tables, etc... (We have alot of electronics in the living room & 3 dogs) Now it takes about 11-13 days to be visibly on the same level as before. Bedroom - When we wake up we noticed a big difference after the 1st night with it. Our sinuses were alot clearer and breathing just felt better. May be a bit bias and maybe I was looking for it and noticed it but, we have been with it for a couple months now and I am still happy with them. I sleep with noise from a TV and the living room one also has a AC in the window near it so, I may not be the best to determine the noise level tolerance. When it is Red and using the high fan to really clean the Air, you will hear it though but, to me that is just it doing its job. Doesn't really bother me even when watching a movie or anything either. In conclusion - Noise Level - perfectly fine to me - Maneuverability - Soooo Easy to move where needed - Cleanability - Cleaning the exterior cover filter is as easy as vacuuming and/or tossing it in the wash. Interior HEPA filter needs to be replaced to be cleaned and right now its about 40 bucks for a replacement but, at about 6 months a replacement I feel it is still worth its while. Honestly, will be getting 2 more when we finish the basement.

Auto feature is nice
I bought this air purifier before taking on a home remodel/addition project in anticipation of increased dust. In addition, I have cats and dogs in the house so figured it would be useful in general. After some thorough research on purifiers, I went with Blueair and am happy I did! I love the auto feature, and just leave mine on auto all the time - it's quite interesting to see what causes it to kick into med/high (like any time I use my gas stovetop - something I didn't previously realize was harming my air quality). I've been impressed with its sensor, as any time the construction crew is sanding/working with drywall/insulation/etc, it kicks into high gear so I do trust that it's doing a good job of monitoring. It's quiet, I really don't notice it on a regular basis, it's a little on the large size but looks fairly nice so not a big deal to have in the main living areas. I like the color filter options, there's a noticeable dust buildup on both filters so it's clearly picking up things. And generally I'm quite happy with it! Note on odor elimination - the amount of carbon in the carbon filters really is not enough to do much of anything for odors. I don't see this as the intent of having the air purifier though, so ok with this. But don't expect everything to smell better. Cooking smells, etc. all still hang around - I have not noticed any difference in this.

Tengo 2, creo tener mi favoritoโฆ

Excellent remedy for dust allergies and for enhancing sleep
due to a road diversion, my residential road has become a main road with irritating amount of traffic. My baby Was struggling with constant allergies ( running nose, blocked nose, always breathing thru mouth) and i was also constantly having phlegm, dry-red eyes etc. I got this item as it seems to be certifed from the allergy and asthma association. I can tell that it is quite effective in immediately reducing the intensity of allergies. within 2-3 days of using, my baby started breathing easily and my problems also disappeared. interestingly, my quality of sleep has also improved. not having fine particulates in our lungs are far more beneficial than we think. make sure u close your windows and doors of your room when using this. i use it with the AC in the room or the fan in the room and the whole room feels so comfortable. Ease of use - childishly simple, my kid operates it herself as there is only one button. Noise - super quiet when used in night mode. i first run it in the room at max mode for 15-20 mins, then change to night mode when going to sleep. weight - very light, u can carry to any room u want. seems to be just ~1 kg weight. So i am a happy customer. long term review will depend on life of filter and easy availability of replacement filters. wud happily recommend to anyone who struggles with dust allergies or who lives in areas prone to traffic.

Breathing in Clean Air Feels Good
Bought one of these in May 2023. Ended up buying another one for downstairs in August 2023. These have definitely helped the air quality throughout the house and it seems that they are also helping out the furnace too. The filter was clean when the technician came to service the furnace and stared that it didn't need replaced yet, when previously I was replacing them every month. Might just be a coincidence but if not it's an excellent additional bonus. Also the units are both very quiet and effective. Would recommend purchasing this, especially if it goes on sale like it did, again. Excellent job blue air. ๐๐ Stay safe and stay awesome. ๐โ๏ธ

Can breathe again!
Itโs been a bad fire season, so this has really helped with all the smoke thatโs been lingering around. Is quiet, but effective. Has a night mode too where the light isnโt on but itโs still running. We now have 4 in our house
