Victorinox Kitchen Grater, Ribbon Edge, Extra Sharp, Robust Handle, Dishwasher Safe, Orange

I've been using this Victorinox grater mainly for cheese on camping trips, and it’s proven to be a solid bit of kit. Its flat, compact design, along with the protective sleeve, makes it ideal for chucking into a camp box without worrying about it taking up too much space or damaging other gear. The handle gives a good, secure grip, which is a big plus when you're trying to grate over a campfire and don't want to risk dropping it or, worse, slicing a hand. Cleaning it is a doddle; it's just one flat piece, so there are no awkward nooks or crannies for bits of cheese to get stuck in. As you'd expect from Victorinox, it arrived very sharp, and it's held its edge well so far, even after repeated use. Compared to my old method of just dicing cheese with a knife, this has been a revelation – far quicker and a lot less faff. If you're after a simple, effective, and easy-to-clean grater, especially for outdoor use, this is a decent shout.

I wanted a super sharp grater and as I love Viktor Inox kitchen knives and sissors and was excited to order their grater primarily for grating veg for coleslaw. I don't like the results at all ie for carrots. Though sharp enough does not create a nice grate and leads to a clogged and difficult to wash grater. Felt I had wasted my money sadly.

A The difference in the ergonomics to a more traditional grater appealed to me, as well as my previous experience with other Victorinox products. However, I regret purchasing this grater for a number if reasons. Firstly, the more traditional style of grater is far more easier to use, and move around a dish with more control over where your grated material will land on your dish. The supposed added stability of silicone on the grater, doesn't work well at all. The grater still slips. Cleaning the grater is far more of a task in comparison to a 100% steel grater. As this is a fine grade grater, material will trap itself in the plastic housing, as will water. This is extremely difficult to remove. I have my doubts about whether this will hold up over time to the steel and housing degrading and failing over time. The grater also becomes far more clogged up than other graters. I have no idea why this occurs in comparison to grating the same items on other graters that do no experience this to the same degree. I would not recommend this product at all.
