I am absolutely thrilled with this NEEWER lighting and backdrop kit, as it has completely transformed the quality of my content. Setting up the 8.5x10ft backdrop stand was much more straightforward than I anticipated, and it provides a professional, clean look that instantly elevates my videos and photos. The LED umbrella softboxes are the real stars here; the 5700K light is crisp and natural, giving me that perfect daylight glow without any harsh shadows. I love how bright the 800W equivalent output is while only drawing 24W, so I don't have to worry about the equipment getting too hot during long shoots. Having the softboxes and umbrellas together gives me so much flexibility to play with cinematic lighting styles, which has been a huge boost for my creative projects. It feels like a high-end studio setup but is simple enough for me to manage solo, and I can’t recommend it enough for anyone looking to get serious about their photography or video work.

I was skeptical (despite good reviews) about this purchase when it first arrived. Having set it up and using it, I can say that it's a great piece of kit! The only draw back were the included lights, but that's not a big deal. They include 4 CFL light bulbs that tend to washout the subject (even with a diffuser). So I simply replaced them with color changing LED lights and haven't looked back. I can color-grade my subjects (to a degree!) before filming or photographing them to help save time in post-production and editing. It's amazing what color changing lighting can provide without the need for color gels/diffusers! This is such an impressive kit for the price, it's full of the necessities required for properly lighting and filming/photographing your subjects indoors. It comes with two separate bags. One bag is for the backdrop mounts, the poles required for hanging the backgrounds, and tripods to mount the backgrounds to. The second bag is for your background cloths (included are: black, white, green), tripods for the softbox lights, two softbox lights, two umbrella lights and mounting clamps, 4 CFL light bulbs, and 8 clamps for the backdrops. Impressive and it's massively easy to coordinate set up with another person, or to set it up alone. Let me be clear, it's not a $3000 set up, so don't fool yourself into thinking it will perform as such. However, the price for this kit is well worth it and it is something that help your videos or pictures "pop" that much more. For a beginner, this is a perfect gateway into photography and filming and it will make a difference in what you're filming or photographing. Easily 5 stars and I highly recommend it for others.

I ordered this kit to get started in portraiture photography. For the cost you get a lot of items which was great. I even appreciated that it came with the lightbulbs for the lights. Pros: * So many items. With all the items included it provides a good starting point for learning this type of photography. * The light stands are pretty durable and hold the weight of the included lights very well, even when fully extended to their highest extent. * I appreciate that it came with white, black, and green fabric backgrounds. * The included clips are great for holding the fabric secure to the backdrop frame. * Backdrop frame is easy to assemble and disassemble even for a single person to do alone. * The carrying cases are GREAT. Love that everything stores neatly away into the bags, and the whole collection is easily carried around because it isn't overly heavy. Cons: * The backdrop frame cross bars concern me in their durability in the long run. The way they connect together to make the backdrop wider works, but isn't the most secure system. Good enough for the cost and to hold a single backdrop, even a wide one. * The backdrop material is fairly thin. More so an issue with the white backdrop as light passes through it pretty easily so it is best if there is no ambient light coming from behind it unless you want there to be. * Would have liked if the bag for the backdrop stand had fit inside the other bag so there would only have been a single bag to carry around. As is though is fine because it keeps the weigh down. * Really would have been great if the lights had brightness adjustments, but at the price that is asking a lot. * The square light reflectors would have been better if they had an internal light reflector as well because when the light is on you still have a hotspot in the center of the included reflector rather than the light being fully spread across the entire reflector surface. Overall It was a good purchase for learning the basics of lighting, and understand what works and what doesn't work. It has led me down the path of knowing what pieces I'd need to replace to take move to the next level. 7/10 would recommend for beginners.

Updated Review: October 4th 2016 My wife and I wanted to update our initial review from a 3 stars rating to a 5 star rating based on the amazing costumer service we received from a customer service representative by the name of Sue from the seller standbyon. After mentioning the same issues we experienced as we discussed in the original review below, Sue was able to resolve everything within a week's time. It was unfortunate that the initial kit arrived with a few dysfunctional items, but after receiving replacement lights and soft boxes without any current malfunctioning issues, we can only assume that the original items either were damaged during packaging or more likely, during shipping. In either case, Sue was wonderful to work with and she completely resolved our issues. As mentioned in our original review, you are getting what you are paying for; however, it is a wonderful starter kit and standbyon's costumer service was amazing in resolving our concerns. I hope this review helps. Original Review: First, this packaged arrived on time and the external shipping package was undamaged. Ironically, many of the interior boxes were dented due to the two poorly designed bags and one bulb box appeared to be opened prior with multiple punctures and dents in it. This punctured, potentially pre-opened box, may mean the bulb was used and/or tested prior and thus it would explain why it blew 3 minutes after turning it on. Why I Bought This Kit: I recently bought this product for my wife as an introductory kit so she could explore her photography hobby. In general we are happy with the amount of items you get with this kit. However, you do definitely get what you pay for. Pros: -This kit is a good starting point with many of the introductory components a photography might need to get started as a hobby photographer. -The backdrop bars allow for future backdrop growth with wider or shorter attaching bars for future backdrops purchases. However, it already comes with 3 backdrops (Green, Black, White). Cons: - Both of the Softbox diffusers as incredibly unstable (one more than the other). They frequently shift down no matter how tight you tighten the knobs. We had to rig them both in order to get them to stay stationary, but for the price, it's doable. - 2 out of the 4 bulbs already blew out. We hope this is merely the bulbs getting bounced around during shipping, but it is disappointing; especially since one bulb (from the previously mentioned damaged/opened box) blew out within 3 minutes of turning it on. The other one lasted 45 minutes. The other two are holding up well, and we replaced the burnt out ones with new bulbs with out future incident thus far so we do not believe it is an electrical dysfunction with the product. - All of the stands are a bit wobbly, but again, they work and you get what you pay for. - The 2 bags that come with the kit are designed in a manner that doesn't protect any of the equipment placed within it. Sadly, that are very loss and bounce around quite a bit. Yet again, for the price, it is fixable and not an issue. Conclusion: My wife loves the kit, but she is concerned about its longevity and future performance after a few sessions of setup and takedown. We know it is a cheaper set, but we would have hoped the soft box diffusers would have at least all functioned as advertised. It was also disappointing that 2 out of the 4 included bulbs already blew out (within 45 minutes). We hope this review helps.

A lot of previous purchasers complained about the quality of the product, be it the green screen frame or the lights, missing parts, quality of the bag(s), and the three muslin that came with it. It made me hesitate wanting this item, but then after reviewing several in the same price range, I took a risk and pulled the trigger. This set is incredible. It may not be industry grade, but it is exceptional. The lights are bright enough to work really well. All the piece came with the item. Yes you can use both soft boxes and umbrella lights at the same time (nothing is missing). The bag(s) that came with it are good enough. I've used them repeatedly as I tear down the set after every use and put them back in the back. The muslin backdrops do not have a scary powder/residue, they are just fine. I bought a steamer to remove the wrinkles for every use. The frame is sturdy enough for indoor use. I'm sure you will need sandbags for outdoor use. I've shot two clips using the green screen, and using Premiere I was able to chroma it properly. It's all about the lighting and I used the lights that came with the package. I haven't used the clips as yet, but they seem to be fine as well. All in all, you get what you pay for. Understand that you are buying a low end, great quality ensemble that would costs you in the thousands if you went professional with each item. For the low cost, it is quite durable. As long as you are patient you can assemble, the package easily and if you are meticulous and careful this package can and will last for a while.

I originally purchased a cheaper package, battery powered LED lighting, which was not nearly as extensive in terms of lighting provided. That package was junk but kudos to Amazon for allowing return, no questions asked. This array of gear will get anybody started in portrait photography or minor video production. The stands are sturdy for the pricing and the lights are nice and bright and more than adequate. The fixtures themselves are robust and look like they will last quite some time and the carry bags are nice, too. It's not the most costly package out there, but it sure gives you bang for your buck. Setup was easy and quick and all the parts were there. The backdrops are heavier than a stand-alone backdrop I purchased earlier from another manufacturer and will offer some nice choices for backgrounds; again, the backdrop stands provided are more than adequate. My only word of advice is to let the fluorescent bulbs warm up for at least ten minutes before shooting to insure proper color temperature; that's just the nature of the beast. I will probably eventually replace them with LED bulbs, but not any time soon. I particularly liked the little note from the CEO...yeah, yeah, it was a form note, but still a nice touch, plus it gives you contact info for customer service. If you can't get some great shots with this setup, don't blame the equipment. I like 'em.

It's impressive at first when you don't have anything at all. Not saying it's a bad purchase, but the quality is definitely worth the price. After a few uses, it's already become loose and an overall hassle to set up. The included backdrops are also smaller than the max-width of the stand (which is okay) they're just really thin. I'll most likely keep as a backup.

como fotógrafo aficionado, lo considero un kit de inicio bastante completo a las necesidades, llego en perfectas condiciones. En cuanto a las medidas esta mas que perfecto para un cuarto de tamaño medio (podría decirse que incluso parece mas grande) , aun así cumplen con la función y estoy mas que satisfecho. El armado no es problema, en unos 30 minutos tendrás todo el equipo levantado y listo para poder sacar esas tomas que tanto deseas. si de igual forma deseas este kit, considero comprarlo con un tripie para mayor apoyo en el estudio (considero que un estudio en casa esta igual de bien, depende de las necesidades). Great backdrop support system which is ideal for the part-time photographer, or someone who wants a first kit which can then be developed in terms of additional backdrops. Set-up is uncomplicated without the need for any special, product specific tools. The lighting is effective and the backdrops comprising of three of the most common backdrop colours used in photography. Recommended!

Product is good.

The stand for the backdrop and the light stands are not very sturdy and can easily knock over. The light bulbs could be brighter closer to the 3000-4000lumen range would be better. Also should have an option to get dimmable and colour changing light bulbs. These are fairly easy to upgrade, but could be options for the future.
