Don’t be fooled by the photos
Read the text. You don’t get the cool attachments like in the photos advertising the product. You only get the round extruder and flat extruder. I’m disappointed, but the text description is accurate, so buyer beware I guess.

Upgraded from junk to jerky gold
After a frustrating experience with a competing jerky gun that arrived in tiny pieces with no assembly instructions, I was skeptical about the LEM Jerky Cannon. Then—wow! What a difference in quality. It's solidly built, super simple to use, and incredibly easy to clean. While making a batch of tri-tip jerky, I used the extra racks to run hamburger and turkey ground meat through for jerky strips and snack sticks. I even added pulverized dried cranberries to the turkey mix for a fun Thanksgiving-inspired kick. Both mixes flowed smoothly through the gun—no clogs, struggles, or gaps. I processed three pounds of ground meat in just a few minutes! The burger jerky has been a huge hit with the family, and the snack sticks disappear the fastest. Not only do I highly recommend the LEM Jerky Cannon, but I'm buying one for my son too. If you're tired of cheap, flimsy alternatives, this is the real deal. [Picture: The pic shows the Jerky Canon strips and sticks with today’s batch of tri-tip jerky. There was a lot more when I put it in the dehydrator. But as the dehydrating cycle neared its end, the strips and sticks started disappearing! Don’t want to accuse anyone, so I’ll blame it on the cannon. ;)] ###badphd

Great tool for the jerky addict
It is easy to use and comes completely apart for easy cleaning. It’s easy to use as long as your ground meat isn’t too stiff. We used the included spice packs, which here a bit bland for our taste, but the whole process worked really well. Cleaning is a bit of work but you can take the whole gun apart so it can be easily washed, rinsed, and sanitized manually. We prefer the manual method because then we know it is clean. Safety first. The unit feels very sturdy and the collars which are plastic go on and off easily. If you squeeze the trigger and it feels really hard, your meat mix is wrong.

Excellent
I bought this to assist me in my first-time foray into jerky making. I can vouch for all the previous comments about the sturdiness, quality, ease, speed and effectiveness of this gun. My take is limited, though, as I have never used any other. I love the ability to make tasty meat snacks for a couple dollars a pound, instead of $20/pound or so for the chemical-laden store-bought varieties. My son and I have probably eaten 10 pounds of cureless, delicious jerky the last couple of months. A few things I would add to the conversation: 1. The unit is supposed to hold 1.5 pounds of meat. I can only get about 1.3 pounds of airpocket-less meat in there. This is not a problem at all for me. Just an observation. 2. The plunger that's made into the trigger mechanism can be used w/o the trigger to speed things up. Just push the end and ram-rod the meat through. 3. It is hard to imagine a higher quality unit. However, the screw that serves as the trigger pivot is showing a sheen of surface corrosion already. This is not a huge deal. When it gets to the point I can't stand looking at it, I'll put a stainless screw there. Update, 11-28-2015: Still using this unit and still love it. One more thing to bring up. The pusher on this unit is comprised of three pieces: a nylon, cup-shaped pusher sandwiched between two stainless discs. The 3 pcs are held together on the push rod by an acorn nut and a hex nut. It'd be best if you disassembled these after use and washed the plastic piece and the disc that contacts the meat. As tight as the tolerances are, meat juice and small meat particles still get underneath the disc. It's a minor hassle (since you have to go and get tools out of your toolbox to do this). LEM should consider redesigning this so that 1 pc replaces the 3 pcs.
