Laurence King Inside the Chocolate Factory 1000 Piece Puzzle

This puzzle (and any puzzle by this company) is phenomenal. I'm a puzzle connoisseur and for the longest time my favorite brand was the Ravensburger soft-click technology puzzles but let me tell you, I ordered the sherlock holmes puzzle from this brand for christmas 2020 and it is still our favorite puzzle to this day! The quality is sterling, the pieces never stick or rip or warp and the slight matte finish makes it waaay easier to see the pieces in strong lighting. I also love how much detail they cram into the image, it makes doing the puzzle so fun because you can idetify something on every piece (though I could've done without some of the characters in this one because they freak the little kids out). Anyways, love this puzzle, love this company, would buy again. Will buy again actually!

I love these types of puzzles and have done others like this one, but the quality of this particular one isn’t great. Some of the pieces were splitting, with a noticeable split between the backing and the artwork. This means some fits aren’t great. It’s generally workable unless you’re someone who likes framing puzzles (because the splits make the image not be level, as some aspects are raised where pieces are split), but it’s still frustrating to have such flimsy pieces. That’s the first issue. Second, except for the edges which obviously are all closed on one side to create the border, all pieces are the same shape/cut style, with 2 “legs/prongs” and 2 “openings” so there is absolutely no variety in the puzzle shapes. I had been eying this puzzle for a while and finally bought it, but it’s disappointing that the pieces are thin and flimsy (which gets some erroneously stuck to one another in the bag and causes further splitting), some are splitting with the artwork lifting, and all non-edges have the same cut, which is not engaging or fun and not something i’ve ever seen before in a1000 piece puzzle. If the quality were improved and the cut was more varied, this would be a great puzzle. At the very least, the issues noted should make the price point much better. I’ve done better quality $11 puzzles, and I expect more from more expensive puzzles. What a shame, because otherwise the picture is fun and the poster (which is quite large) has cool info, but working with low-quality pieces that are all the same shape is not much fun.

Updated to 4 stars from 3 stars: My eyes must be getting old. There actually was no missing piece of extra piece. One star off for the condition of the pieces. Previous review: This puzzle had a lot of dust and a good number of bent or peeling pieces. Upon completing it, I saw that it was missing one piece and had an extra piece.

These particular puzzles are great. Pieces are solid, artwork is outstanding. Includes a poster size replica to help configure, which also includes quick stories and facts

Love this puzzle!

Unique puzzle where you get to find thinks in the puzzle after you have finished it. Puzzle is good quality and the subject is interesting.

For some reason this puzzle did not connect with me, although I enjoy doing puzzles. I liked the "matted" pieces, which made them easier to see without reflecting the light so much. I also like puzzles with a printed sheet included, which this one has. I guess I need to read the book again, as I wasn't interested and just didn't care about the puzzle. I worked a part of it, and then just tore up what I had done, and put it away. I might go back and do it another time. I bought the 1,000 piece one, which is what I like to do, but this one was frustrating and became boring. Maybe it was just me and the mood I was in at the time.

Having bought one of these as a present, I was impressed with the product, packaging and quality to the point I bought another 3 of them. I was told they were very enjoyable to do as well, lots of little details that made them interesting, and sometimes difficult to complete.

Loved this puzzle, very good quality and comes in a very pretty box im thinking of buying one for a present next time. Took us a good amount of hours to finish so lots of fun out of it :) great quarantine activity
